Wilber posted it before I found the same shot from the event. I talked with the owner for a few minutes while he was visiting. Small overbore, no compression increase, shifted at 10k. Don't remember much else.

     Across the top of the swingarm with sprockets on each end, you swap the rear wheel 180 degrees and use two shorter chains. You'd add weight and according to the article add a slow shift. I'd think that a powerglide would work as well for less money and better shifting. If we're really getting into fantasy land, let's look at a Lenco two speed that some nitro bikes use. Add cost, add weight, and cut the ET's a little. Or cut off the tranny section of the motor and go to a Bruno transmission. (Lenco with a torque converter)  Doesn't sound like you would help the repeatability, but I'd love to try the Bruno. It would only double the cost of the project to date.

Got the same looking bike but it's a KAWASAKI = TAKING OFF WHEELIE BARS, taking off slicks, putting Shinkos front and rear, 68" long , no front fender, button start,1 7/8" off ground, anti-wheelie device, J-model solid mount motor, kawamatic shift, small or large carbs and ready for SAM to go in the 10's shifting at 10,900 rpms carrying front wheel about 6" off the deck thru 1-2 then down for 3-4-5.

LEINO: Does your bike have a double clubfoot long swingarm w/struts ? Soon to be short shocks for the squat. This frame was made for drag racing, many braces and a solid mount J-MODEL KZ MOTOR. The former owner had a big PRO-STOCK KZ NOS motor,small tire that ran 165mph. He lost his job and needed cash and I got it for cheap........ it can slide back to 72".  Could put SAM'S motor in this roller for a real deal " MATIC 750 ".

No it doesn't and that's not what I meant. My bike has stock frame, GSX-R swingarm, 59" wheelbase and no added electric gadgets (If you don't count the Dyna ignition?), it still runs 9,6's and 145mph.

My point is you don't REALLY need all that stuff to run in the 10's or 9's even if the bike is 31 years old like mine.

Sounds like you have a real racebike and my intention was not to start an argument.
Rules are very different over there compared to ours so times and bikes etc. are not really compatible.

I commend you on riding that short wheelbase bike to the ET's you've posted. And no, I seriously doubt that an average rider could best your times. It shows me you've got a good handle on your package. Imagine with your clutch control how quick you could go on a longer bike!!!

LEINO:  Sounds like you need to move to OHIO and race at NORWALK, KILR-KARE,DRAGWAY 42, SALEM, CLEVES or National Trails Raceway ever weekend = about 6-8 rounds with these BAD BOYZ with boxes,sliders, throttle stops, Turbos,NOS, AUTO-SHIFTS,long, small tire bikes that run 177mph and your lights better be  .510 or less.................. better look in the history books of IDBA,AMA PRO-STAR and DRAGBIKE AMA for the many past CHAMPIONS that call this state home, could get you a job working for my son $42 per hour but you have to work 60-70 hours a week = to tired to race ?  Great number 9.40 so I would be way down the track on the " TURTLE "  400cc SOHC HONDAMATIC running 17.77et at 77mph, think you can meet me at the 12" MARK at the end of 1319'. I'll post a picture of the many that didn"t.

Question? This cylinder caught my eye tonight on way in house.Engine been on bench for 3 months and never noticed! Has older head,but all the other 8-10 cylinders I checked quick,none looked like this! Real early? Bill

Lokks like two pc casting slightly off!
What all others looked like,thinner fins also.

Bill.....that cylinder reminds me of my '69 sandcast (lost the cases to the wicked chain). I;m thinking that type of casting continued into the '70 production.
