Jim, yes. Use stock horn button and mini on board air compressor, the tank you welded on, mounted underneath to c/stand brackets. Pinged elec kill switch to Dyna hot wire and Orient  Express elec over air solenoid. Frank will correct me if I'm wrong! Haha. Got a little air leak. 120 psi goes to 90-95 by morning. Thanks, did y'all race yesterday? Bill....Don't even have to take handlebar switch off! K.

hey Bill,

Yeah, we raced another double race on Saturday.  I lost 2nd round.  Was alittle late against Jimmy Heisler and he ran closer to his dial than me.  I flat got beat.
We then had one test shot before the second race.  When I shut the engine off and made the turn off the track, I heard a knocking noise from the tranny that matched the wheel speed.  After stopping, I rolled the bike back and forth with no noise I could hear, also in the pit afterward.  Drew Donnie Chavous 2nd round.  When I went on the 2-step as the tree came down, I felt the bike bump forward twice, but the tree was on the way down and I let it eat.  The bike went down the track and shifted perfectly, but I lost with a terrible reaction time.  Once again, the bike was knocking when turning off the track.  I loaded it up and didn't buy back.  Pulled the engine today with Jim Frenchs' help and we found the second gear input gear split, causing a bind every revolution of the tranny.  It was probably one run away from grenading, so we made a good call to drop out.  Should have another gear and back together before this next weekend.
I'm not as smart as I look, but I am pretty.

Weather conditions not looking good for the race weekend. 80% Friday, 90% Saturday and 80% for Sunday. As anyone will tell you, if it rains at VMP, you can stick a fork in the chance of getting a race in. Someone needs to start doing the anti-rain dance.

Any idea what (if any) the rain dates would be? Do they just carry over into the week (Mon-Fri) until it quits raining long enough to race?

Weather forecast right now, is highs @ 92-93 and 40% chance of thunderstorms all 3 days! I guess if you show and pay each day, you'd still get 11 pts each day for teching a bike?
Options are ok, but not for friends and fellow team members, already bought tickets etc. we got. Day or so. C'mon Dusterdude Raindance time!  ;D Jon how's it coming? Bill

Bill: Your tranny is BACK-CUT and with a after market harden second gear ?  While doing your burn out in second gear then hitting that same gear pass the 60' mark puts lots strain on that gear = right FRANK ?  Those stock second gears gears break a tooth off and go in to the gear pack, broke one tooth off stock first gear in my ZIR KZ and HEARD A CLICKING = stopped and saved a tranny. Guess that slick snatch off the line broke that gear ?

Pops, where the heck have you been?? Good to see you show up again.

All correct on the loading on the gears Pops. No hardended gears for the Honda as far as I know but Bill does have undercut dogs in his now. He'll be just fine for the amount of power his bike makes. He just can't run it forever without touching up the dogs- this isn't a maintenance free street bike anymore.

Double checked a few different sources including the National Weather Service- it seems 40% across the board is more accurate than what I researched from Weather Underground last night.

Pistons in block, head loosely on. Motor in chassis; no bolts yet. Tomorrow night torque head, put in cam, lash valves, bolt motor into chassis. Got your package which will cause me more hours of slapping bugs. That's the update. If there's a better chance of rain than not, I'll be staying home. Weather.com has it at 30% with high of 89 Saturday and 87 Sunday. The lows are now above 70 which will make the evening dial-ins easier. ;)
