7 months have passed and things are moving on, CycleX have dispatched a drum to disc conversion for the rear brake with twin calipers to make sure the auto dosen't creep forward when the power is wound on in the staging beams. http://www.cyclexchange.net/index%20pics/Diskconver4.JPG
A few other parts are needed such as clip ons, footrest and an oil cooling system so as to be in place for when I arrive in Boston on the 3rd August to start the build.
I hope Ken's new shipping manager is up to speed when I place the order for the remaining bits.

Not since the ones that Andy posted of it strewn all over one of Mike's work benches. Hope he remembers how it came apart.

Mike is just starting his school hols so may have time to post some progress.

I'm using the stock aloys with wire spokes to make it roll, the motor should make it rock and roll.

Sam,AMA Dragbike ceases to exist as of today. Bummer!!!!! I hope you still want to go RACING!! I do! Maybe someone will pick up the series.Damn'it Gumby I'm PO'd.

The AMA was, at one point, looking to sell all of it's racing interests to NASCAR. Not sure wheat ever happened to that.

Too bad. Hopefully something positive comes of it.

I've almost completely lost interest in American roadracing or what's left of it, isn't this run by Nascar now?

I remember back in the seventies here in Canada the CMA just about ruined Canadian racing.

Hey guys, It's not the AMA that's to blame, they only sanction the series and provide insurance.
The people that run the events have been doing a great job but due to the economic down turn over the last two years, they have got to the stage where they will start loosing money if they carry on.
Entry fees to race are very reasonable but due to the fact that the 8 events are spread over a very large area, a lot of competitors can't travel to all of them due to the so called (in the US) high cost of gas.
Even I was only planning on doing the southern rounds because of it.

Mike just posted this and it seems to have vanished.

Sam asked me to post some pics of the drum to disc conversion from CycleX. It is certainly stout but weighs a ton, but on the plus side, it's dead in the centre of the tyres footprint where it might be needed.

Don't go blaming the computer, stick to doing what you do best and leave the techy stuff to the children like I do with Ben

Looks like you're planning to make some heavy forward thrust to need such a binder in the rear!

Quite a lump of braking power there Sam, should be cool.

Mike I wonder if Clayton would rent himself out for a few hours? We're in need of someone..........well younger to solve some electronic woes!

Hey Billy, we're down to bare frame, forks and wheels, time to start building.
Clipons and oil filter/cooler addapter arrived today.
Mike started to build the motor, has anyone seen a stage 12 head.

Today I've been getting the RC swingarm modified to fit. The guy doing the job was responsable for the 1000cc billet blocks.
While he was making new bushes, the machine that made the blocks was making spare parts for itself.
