Winter Project is Ready

While my lovely wife was away, the mice did play today. My son and I moved the K1 & K4 into the heated patio for my winter projects. The K1 chrome was done last winter and now it is time for new candy gold. The K4 that I bought in July will get chrome, forks rebuilt and polished, new sprockets, chain, new front and back wheel bearings, gauges rebuilt, engine covers polished, oil pan dropped, OEM bars, and whatever else comes along. Will be a fun winter.  ;D

Nice pair, I'll be stripping my 650 down during winter too for maintainence but right now it's 30 deg and perfect riding weather. ;D

I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

Here in Texas we kind of get screwed on the winter project stuff, since we don't actually get "winter." Unless you consider those occasional days when the high is only in the 50s to be winter.

But I empathize, Johnnie. I grew up in Milwaukee (high school and UWM), so I remember - much as I try to forget...

Yah, the last 2 winters and record snowfall put a damper on my Wing rides too. So far we are snowless and hit 50 today. Next week that nasty Canadian chill is supposed to blow our way. Just hope the winter is not so bad for a change.

Yes, I get all my chrome done locally. Found a real nice guy who really goes out of his way to make it right. Terry at Custom Plating Specialist in Brillion, WI. This will be the third bike he does for me.

This small shop is about 20 miles from where I live. They do great work and they now do aluminum. The owner is right there polishing parts when you stop by. I have been dealing with them for 15 years. I recommend them. Dan
