Engine Rebuild Using Riken Piston Rings

For my Cb750 K0:
I'm about to pull about the top end and update the rings. Should I have any concerns using Riken pistons rings? Should I hold out and just get Honda NOS? I aways seem to regret buying non-Honda after market parts. Is Riken a piston ring supplier for Honda?

Are these the right ones?

I believe I've read here on the board that Riken was one of the original OEM ring suppliers.  As far as using them, I have a set sitting in their blister pack on my rebuild pile, I'll let you know how it goes come spring :)

Just a side note, I've come to really trust Yamiya.
It appears they sell only Riken.

Those are the rings I just put in my motor and all is well so far.  I rode it Sunday and flogged it a bit just to check for any other mechanical problems and the motor ran perfectly (including a run to triple digits just for fun ;)).  I suggest a good 2 1/2 inch. bottle hone for the cylinders, i think i used 240 grit and they turned out great.  Then for extra security on the gaskets is used some Permatex High Tack gasket sealer on all them.  If you stick with the stock studs like I did make sure to not skip the 1,000 mile retorque on the head studs, you'll regret it if do.

To retorque, I have to take the engine out again.
Are your frame supports cut or are you taking the engine out?

We got 2   836s built in the 80s with stock studs,

 we missed the retorque bulletin..


 they both still ran fine in 06, one is still running strong..

 When & why are we going to regret it.. ???

I've been warned by several people (including Ken at Cycle X) that the stock studs tend to stretch, which would lead to a head gasket sucking air from all the wrong places, and leave you right back at square one (pulling the motor).  That was the reason I had to do the top end on my motor the head gasket was sucking air around cylinders 3 and 4. But I'm always willing to learn and listen to anyone who has new information, but it makes me feel a little better about usuing the stock studs.

Since I still have to paint my frame and other parts, I'll have to pull the motor anyway so I will probably check them just for good measure.  And no my frame is not cut for clearence, but there is usually plenty of extra help around the shop for motor pulling.
