Hell bent for leather - as in women's leather pants.
« on: November 29, 2009, 11:09:35 PM »
Looking for a reputable online place to buy women's leather pants.  I stupidly promised "something big" for my gf's upcoming birthday, and now I'm on the hook.  I've found a ton of places that sell what I'm looking for, but I was wondering if anyone had first hand experience from a seller that was on the up and up.  I'm looking for the older style lace-up variety, with a thickness of 1.2 mm or more.  Anybody have any good recommendations?  I mean, aside from recommending that I not attempt to buy clothes for women in the first place.

Thanks.

As a woman, I suggest you take her somewhere and have her try them on. I know it spoils the surprise but it will be a bigger one if she goes to put them on and they are too small (so she will feel fat) or they are too big (and now she thinks you believe she is that fat).  Ya know whut I mean?  ;) Just a word to the wise from a woman's perspective. Another way I guess is, if you can sneak it, you could take a pair of her pants that she fits in really well along with you to measure from so she wouldn't need to be there but you are still taking chances. Leather pants usually don't fit the same as other pants.

Honey, do these pants make me look fat?
No, your ass makes you look fat.

I would suggest you never use that response either.  ;D Good luck!

Yeah, I took covert measurements of her pants, waist, hips and length, women's size-wise as well as in inches.  Its a bit ambitious, I give it a 50-50 chance of success.  Anyway, we call each other fat-ass all the time, so no worries.

Thanks for the recco, myhondas.  And the advice, MickeyX.

If all else fails, maybe I'll just get her a sampler pack of degreasers and chrome polish.  You know, something girly.

ROFL!!!

When I wanted to get my girlfriend a nice motorcycle jacket, gloves, and riding pants. I just priced out what it would be on average, then got her a gift certificate for a local place that had all that stuff. That way she could pick the colors, try things on...etc. Worked out really well. Thankfully she didn't go with pink ANYTHING lol...
