When I was modifying my F2 I wanted something differant for the brakes. The standard ones were ok,but I liked the ones on a friends bike. But I started by making up some dural replacement pistons for the standard calipers, then had them alichromed. This process was very similar to anodising, but as the alichrome was free and specified for battle tank parts,I thought that this was better.Ferodo pads bit onto CBX1000Z discs with Goodridge brakelines.
But when my friend with his CB900FD had an accident and his bike was written off,I bought the discs and calipers, with the idea that they should bolt straight on to my F2.By this time I had replaced the standard F2 forks with ones from a CBX1000Z, and ,being 35mm diameter, just bolted straight in place without much work except working out by how much the forks should be dropped through the forks.
Instead of the standard pad pins,I made up some stainless steel 'U' shaped items, which also helped when it was time to remove the pads for any reason. The ends were drilled and small 'R' pins added for security.
The front mudguard is from a CB900FZ.
