I've been looking to do a bike project for a while, finally stumbled across a 73 cb750 and grabbed it.  Runs really strong, missing brakes, side covers, bunch of miscellaneous stuff.. I figure it's a good base to use for a cafe build.. hoping to have a build thread going on here, and mining the place for information.

A picture of her as we were getting ready to hook some straps on and take her home:

Congrat's and welcome.  I've got a 73 CB750 as well. This place is a wealth of info for just about anything you want to do.

Here's a before and after pic of mine for some inspiration:

Nice, man.  That looks good.

I'm toying around with how far I want to go with this thing - whether I want to get into the rearsets, headlight bucket.. for sure I am doing a cafe seat and moving the battery up, getting rid of the side covers and relocating the oil tank to the battery location with a new tank, and of course getting rid of the stock bars.. still debating on clip ons versus clubman bars, etc..  I think I'm going to keep the stock tank but I'm thinking about putting some knee inserts into it.  Teardown beginning this weekend.. build thread to follow, hopefully.
