Is the tank getting the old yellow Honda wing emblem? I painted my tank to match the old 74 works Honda CR125 with the orange & silver.

Just waiting for my paint to cure as well before clear coat & decals.
I've got my eye on an old CB350 twin for my next project and I'm thinking building a scrambler/dirt tracker.

No Honda wings for me.
Decals will be 'Keihin', 'Bridgestone', 'Yoshimura' and 'Arrow'.

Well, that's the tank clear coated and decals fitted....



Not sure about the scrambler pegs, not sure my welding will hold up!

Maybe swing by a good frame builder's and ask for some feedback.  You certainly do not want to lose a peg at speed.

FWIW, I'm not a shill for Race Tech - I've just got a thing for good suspension and the RTCE's are the most cost-effective mod for these old damping rod front ends.

The 'scrambler' project has been on hold for a while, but I'm back on it now  ;D
The brake master cylinder was knackered so I went for a Chinese import of ebay. Also fitted a small headlamp. Ebay.
Also, I've finally started on the wiring. Small headlamp means building the 'nest' somewhere else. Plastic junction box should keep everything snug.







So far only have indicators and parking lights working, but I'm getting there ;)

sweet, nice and beefy, great work on the paint. Best of luck on the wiring, its not really that complicated on these old bikes but when your staring at it for so long it can start to get to you.

Well the wiring is now completed and is all working as it should ;D. Rebuilt motor starts on the button. Tank and seat fitted.
Main things still to do are finish painting exhaust, fit cover on wiring junction box, front mudguard, rear No. plate and dB Killer (it's waaaaay to LOUD :D). Alos fit side covers when new grommets arrive.

Steve, that bike looks great but those tyres really screw up the concept, put some good rubber on there mate and ride the wheels of it.... ;)

Mick, yes I know those knobblies are not gonna make a great road tyre, but I love the look of 'em. So much a part of the 'big scrambler' look 8).

But I've also been thinking of fitting more of a dual-purpose rubber, to get the best from those carbs and exhaust.

In addition to padding the seat, I would really suggest some kind of trim that masks the gap between the seat bodywork and the subframe.

But that's a nitpick - it's a very nice execution of a great concept.  BE PROUD!

+1 great looking bike and looking forward to seeing how it rides.

Even though I love the tires I have to agree with Mick about the knobbies especially since you are riding in England - wet roads and those knobbies wont be good. And speaking of wet roads you are going to have a fun time with no front fender and no chain guard but then maybe its a fair weather bike only?

Legendary Motorcycles, their ebay store is Cafe Bike connection. They are currently working on a seat to fit this tail, this one has an odd hump under the seat but they do have a similiar seat which is flat.

Oh yes, def gonna pad the seat. But just a little, probably race-type foam. Don't think it would look too cool with the over-stuffed 'upholstered' look. Needs to look lean 'an mean 8)
It will also get a front mudguard, here it is just sitting on the tyre. Nice and light. Need to fabricate some mountings.

A little more progress this week. Mudguard mounts are made. The top brace is ally and stays mild steel with washers mig’d on and a quick silver spray. Mudguard is plastic, of a bultaco/motessa pattern.







Also fitted this Db Killer. Hopefully this will keep the MOT tester happy. Either way, it will be removed once I have the ticket. Just need to bleed the front brake and I’m almost ready for a quick blast round the block. Can’t wait :P

Well it’s been a week or two and I made the decision to lower the seat to the frame tubes. You guys were right, it does look much better. Just didn’t think it through. But all’s well now. Had to trim a half inch off the lower edge. Another benefit is this time the side mounting holes are not used so can be filled prior to repaint.

In the Past: Honda 70, Honda CL175, Honda XL 250, CR250M, Suzuki 750 Water Buffalo, Turbo Charged CBX (stolen second time I rode it after a 3 year build) CB 550 Cafe. Several Kawasaki Triples.
