Just putting a feeler out there....it'd be cool to have a fellow SOHC4'R in the area.
Cheers!

I'm not in Sudbury, not even close really,I'm in Shelburne north of Orangeville, but I thought I'd say hello anyway. There aren't a lot of Canadian SOHC owners on the forums so welcome to our little world. I've got 2 SOHC bikes, a 1978 CB550 on the road and my '72 750K2 project which may or may not be completed in my lifetime LOL. The only other SOHC member I know of close to me is Matt in Alliston, a few miles south of Barrie, you may have seen some of his posts, I believe his ride is a CB350 Four.
Take care,
Mike

Actually there are quite a few Canadians and several of us are in Ontario but it seems southern Ontario has a greater number. Of course if more people filled out the member map info it would be far easier to tell where everyone is and who might just be closer than we think.

LMAO...ah the wonders of Google!!

Actually I am the house to the right with the brown van and all the kids in the yard! My wife was doing home daycare at the time. I wish they would give advance notice of when they were coming by....I would have had the bikes out in the driveway!!

Dennis

P.S. the driveway oil is NOT from me! The PO was virtually retarded and basically ruined the driveway with leaky vehicles. The garage doors have now been replaced too. This is the house I have been #$%*ing about for a while now due to all the problems I have been finding with it! Moral of the story??? Never hire a home inspector based on your agent's recommendations!!!!

That Google Street View is scary. They haven't done my road. Maybe the gravel will keep them away. I arranged for a cloud to be directly over my house when they took the last air photos.

I'm not that near Sudbury either, but I am on the member map near Acton (which is between Georgetown and Guelph). I know that there are more than a few SOHC around here, but they are not on the map.

There sure are a lot of Harley's around here though ...

I ride a 78 550k .... picked her up this summer and I've put about 2k on her.
After cleaning the carbs....new plugs...lots o lube she runs hard and strong!!

I know its about time to get off the bikes but an Ontario SOHC ride would be awesome!!

Well P-Camps, Maple is quite a ways from Sudbury you know.  However, I'm over by Sunderland way and this weekend I'm teaching up at the King City Seneca campus.  I'm hoping to be able to ride over with one of my Honda Fours this Sunday (either the CB350 or  :-[ the DOHC 750K).  So, if you want a destination that's close-by and want to drop-in for a lookee (at new riders having fun learning on small bikes), come say hello! ;D ;D ;D ;D

HNR, do you do the M2 exit course as well? I need to get off my butt and get my full M before it expires (I think it's June next summer) and if I am going to spend money on a course I would rather support a course/instructor I know (sorta). Sure King City is a bit of a ride from Whitby but it is a good tune up each day before and after the course to practice the skills (and try to rid myself of bad habits!)

I actually spent two years at that college back in the 90's doing Law Enforcement and Security there...

my78k:  I teach the M1X course, not the one you need.  However, the group that I am involved with (RTI - www.ridertraining.ca) has numerous training sites and also teach the M2X course that you need.  I would highly recommend them and suggest that you check them out!

BTW my 750 is a 81-K (with another set of cams than yours).

Thanks for the invite Hondanut :)  I have my m1 exit exam booked for the 23rd at the brampton ministry.  You would probably be qualified to answer my question.  Can I ride my friends 125cc Vespa to my test.  Being a full speed bike it should be ok right??

Yes - the 125cc Vespa should be OK for a M1X exam, but I'd still confirm with the ministry testing office beforehand.  You wouldn't want to show up and get a surprise at that time.  RTI supplies the bikes for the M1X course that we conduct on parking lots.  They include the Honda CBR125 as well as other makes and models, the largest currently being a 250cc.  With the ministry, you show up at their testing facility/lot with your own bike, and they have you run through the test without instruction or practice.  The RTI course is two days (plus an evening classroom session) and starts with the assumption that the student has never ridden a motorcycle before.

For an M2X exam, the 125cc would likely need special arrangement (I know it does with RTI) as part of the test is then on expressways unless other prior considerations are made.  (I don't think you'd want to enter the 401 at Dixie and then try heading up the 400 on that scoot.)
