Well my gas tank was leaking a bit, so I sanded it where the leak was coming from and this is what I found.. Is it worth fixing? Can it be fixed, or does my wife have new planter?

I'd opt for the last option and get another one, anything can be fixed at a cost but is ir worth it?

Agreed, replacement tanks are relatively cheap. 

Consider that if your tank is that bad in that spot, how bad is it in other spots?

In theory that tear could be braised back together, but then isn't that a great rusty spot just above it as well?

Really have to consider what Mystic said.

Thanks guys, I will go ahead and replace it. I was thinking that however I just wanted to be sure I was selecting the correct option. That big spot above it? Well it was a torch accident.. I should not be allowed to play with fire!
