brake rotors and caliper clearance
« on: April 25, 2005, 07:59:06 PM »
evening all,

I've just received my front wheel and rotor for my '72 500 four. I've been scavenging off a '76 550, including the caliper. when I tried to settle the axle on the yokes, there's a gap of about 2mm, because the rotor is too big, and bottoms out on the caliper. switch rotors, switch calipers, what to do?

Sounds like the rotor (disk) is larger on the 550. Measure the diameter.

If so, I guess you'll have to switch rotors.
