nope, it couldn't be that simple. I'm starting to suspect my ribbon cable is at fault.
Or either I had it hooked wrong. Anyway, I'm on the new HDD now but when I started it, it wouldn't boot.
I switch the cable from the plug at the end to the plug in the middle and she booted.
So maybe I misunderstood the directions (of course that is the technical writers fault

. It said the black plug
went to the master and the gray plug to the slave. The black is at the end of the line in my opinion and I would
intuitively think that the first plug in the line goes to the master and the second to the slave. Anyway, I'm going for the
external HDD in a box option. BUT WAIT.
What's this I missed about plugging the old HDD into the CDrom slot? Did I understand this correctly.
