Greetings from Illinois!

Hello all; Captainkirk here. Just bought a CB550 Four and will be chronicling the resto in the projects thread. Since this is going to be as close to an original resto as possible (within financial constraints, of course!) I figured this would be the right place to hang out, ask questions, and generally make a bother of myself! I'm by no means a newbie to bikes and/or wrenching ON them, but just learning the CB550 as an individual creature. I belong to numerous other bike forums, moderate some, but none devoted solely to the 550. So, here I am, full of questions and ready to learn from the experts. And, it's OK to tell me to shut up if I talk too much! ;D

Why stick with aluminum when we can use dilithium crystals?

Notice how assiduously I refrained from going there :D

Seriously though, dilithium isn't nearly ductile enough for engine casings but would find excellent application in your rectifier (aka phase compensator ;) ) to reverse the polarity of the neutron flow.

Ahh....but it works just fine if you add intrapolar hardening agent.
Only obtainable at your local KlingonMart.
