After losing Brenda, This Christmas is going to be hard ( I am already feeling the effects) AND next Month will be 6 Months that SHE will have been gone, not to mention that it WOULD have been our 39th Wedding Anniversary! :-\ This is going to be the HARDEST thing I have EVER had to do! I AM Praying about it myself (and HAVE BEEN for a bit now!). Just when I think that I am (albeit slowly) starting to get myself somewhat back on some sort of track, I get the wind knocked out of me and I never know when it's coming. (I've already made so changes in what we will do THIS YEAR, for Christmas, with my Daughter Karla's understanding and I am thinking of going out for a meal by myself for the Wedding Anniversary on the 8th of January) I REALLY appreciate all the support I have gotten here and I hate to keep on asking, hoping the time will come soon that I can better handle this. Thank you so much for your time.  Bill

speaking for myself Bill, I'm here for you if you need me.

im sure you have seen this before but dont forget it

One night a man had a dream. He dreamed
he was walking along the beach with the LORD.

Across the sky flashed scenes from his life.
For each scene he noticed two sets of
footprints in the sand: one belonging
to him, and the other to the LORD.

When the last scene of his life flashed before him,
he looked back at the footprints in the sand.

He noticed that many times along the path of
his life there was only one set of footprints.

He also noticed that it happened at the very
lowest and saddest times in his life.

This really bothered him and he
questioned the LORD about it:

"LORD, you said that once I decided to follow
you, you'd walk with me all the way.
But I have noticed that during the most
troublesome times in my life,
there is only one set of footprints.
I don't understand why when
I needed you most you would leave me."

The LORD replied:

"My son, my precious child,
I love you and I would never leave you.
During your times of trial and suffering,
when you see only one set of footprints,
it was then that I carried you."

My thoughts are with you Bill, one day at a time mate...one day at a time. :)
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

There aint any words at all that help in the darkness of your night,
Save to say these forums will (hopefully) always be here for you and you for them.
And in the darkest part of the abyss , bring your lost one to the front of your mind and hear her saying to you that she wants you to be happy again, It's what she would want, for you.
Honour her this way.. and when it seems too painfull, remember she is at peace, free from this mortal coil with all the pain and suffering left behind, waiting , on the other side of the veil.

Hi Bill,

I've read your threads and refrained from posting til now. The depth of your loss is staggering and I've been pretty speechless as to what I could say as a stranger, but...

I hope that this Christmas and New Year's you and yours can have only the warmth of your best memories together and that your pain will subside and become comfort and even a small bit of joy.

I know that's a tall order but I do wish it for you and your family.

Sincerely,
Marc

Bill, I'm Having a hard time coming to grips with this Holiday season as well.(Christmas)
On June 7th 09 I lost my dad do to a short battle with cancer and I'm just not in a festive mood.
Being that I'm married 20 years and we were together 10 before we got married it is 30 years together and I could not even think of how I would function without my wife. She had a close call in the beginning of this summer when she went down on a parkway in the left lain thank god her injuries were not life treating.
I can not even think of any words of wisdom to say to you .

You know, I know that there are FOUR things I can count on in my life, Jesus, Family (which is getting short), Friends AND You All! I know that HE will not put more on you than YOU can handle, but sometimes it seems like he might forget who he's dealing with, cause it can get pretty staggering (although I DO know that HE doesn't make mistakes). Some of you have really thrown some heavy moral support out there that has really helped me to stop and think. Then there are some who've not known exactly WHAT to say, but I can assure you that each reply HAS helped (EACH and EVERY ONE!) That website where Brenda's bio and photos are ( http://www.mem.com/ContentDisplay.aspx?ID=14194607 ) will be there forever AND I still go there several times a week and sometimes once a day (I did last night) and just look through those photos also I reread those entries made on her Guestbook and it ALL comes back again. It STILL amazes me at how quickly we can be left without someone! I saw others pass on off and on during my life, felt the pain and the loss and yet NEVER in my WILDEST dreams, thought about the possibility of Losing Brenda. She was ALWAYS there in MY time of need and when I was losing her on THAT day, I just felt so helpless. It really is something how we can be So shaken and Humbled (I guess THAT'S the word) by an experience like that. I guess what I keep getting now and then, is like a "Wake Up Call". In ONE sense I had thought about how long we'd been married, feeling GOOD about THAT and looking forward to EACH year that we'd ADD to that (like there would be NO end). Then, next thing I know, SHE'S GONE and That Amount Of Time HAS an END. Yeah, I know that SHE will be with ME forever SPIRITUALLY. I HOPE that what I have gone (and AM GOING) through, will help ME to BE THERE for OTHERS, Like You All have been there for me! I'm really looking forward to getting on with things like SHE'D want me to, I'm STILL trying to get me life back on track, as best I can. I just NEVER thought I'd be going on without HER. I feel like a ship W/O a rudder AND I'm trying to come up with one. :-\

I want to say Thank You again and get out of here, got to get on with the day. I just realized that today is Trash Pickup Day and I haven't put it out yet. ::)

I'll have to come back and reply to Joe Mig after while, BUT I WILL do that! ;)

Yes, I have AND it IS an EXCELLENT example of how HE is THERE for us and I appreciate you bringing it up. ;) I KNOW that HE will provide AND YET, I guess being Human, it is EXTRA comforting to have Moral Support From Others as well.

                                          Take care, Bill ;)

I KNOW from my own experience that it helps to talk, sometimes and at other times, a person just needs time alone. I, personally, have received an INCREDIBLE amount of Moral Support from these folks and it Has TRULY been of GREAT help to ME.

Bill, I don't think we have ever talked, but I have read lots of your posts(including your post regarding when you lost Brenda).  I know all these guys are here for you, and I am glad to be part of such a close community. I just wanted to let you know that, though we don't know eachother, I will be sending positive vibes your way this winter. I hope you can find some joy in these rough times. I lost my Grandpa(my inspiration and the reason I am who I am today) 5 years ago this month, so I do have a slight idea what you'll be going through. I know your REAL family will be there for you, and its good to be part of THIS family for you!!!  Keep your head up, brother...

Hey Welcome Brother! Always Good to hear from yet ANOTHER member of the SOHC4 and it ALL helps, I assure you. I really FEEL for YOUR loss as well. MY Granddad
(my Dad's Dad) meant the world to me as well AND had it not been for HIM and my Dad, I doubt that I would have this Passion for bikes AND Cars, the way I do! As far as REAL Family (except for my In-Laws), there's my Dad, My Daughter and myself. But now. I've got one HELL of a Family right here! ;)

You take care (and I'm doing my best to hold my head up, Bill ;)

I'm really dreading the 1st of Jan because it will be 6months AND the memories of that Day (July 1st) are starting to show up off and on each day. Then the 8th will be would have been our 39th Wedding Anniversary and I am planning to be alone on that day, to just try to reflect back on the times we had. She was SO special!

I'm still pulling for you Bill.

I'm off tomorrow for Australia for the cancer tour 2010.

I'll be back in March.

Its a somber Christmas around here as well.

Some things and thoughts that occur to me during this time:

Christmas is the celebration of Christ's Birth.

Brenda will definitely be at the birthday bash.

Christmas is a time for family.

Embrace the ones you love. Brighten the days of the people who are your friends and family.

The ones who remain behind are what the season is for.

Wish I could give ya a hug.

Tim, always good to hear from you too! You have a Safe Trip Now! So, we're not going to be hearing from YOU til March? ??? That's a pretty long time, it seems.

Yeah, Brenda's sure to be right in the middle of things. I can just see her getting all excited.

Got more SOHC4 Family than I do Blood related Family. Not saying ANYTHING against the SOHC4 Family, Sure don't want the Bounty Hunter coming after me! :D

Not gonna be decorating for Christmas THIS year though. Just can't seem to get into the swing of it. Brenda and I had stopped buying for each other for Christmas, sometime back. But, even though we agreed on that, I would always buy her some clothes (at least 1 or 2 Christmas Sweaters or outfits, she Loved to were things like that) and at least one Santa Claus to go in her cabinet (with her collection of them). Then, when I'd give the packages to her, she'd fuss a little and then eagerly open them up. ;D Now, all of her clothes have been packed away. Guess I need to take them to Goodwill or something like that. I'm gonna try to get more into it next year.

You take care Tim (and be careful), Bill ;)
