That number's been at 222 for the longest time.

Go team!

Let me know when it's approaching 5% of all the members.  Then I might start to be impressed.

From what I've read... the 222 number was so long standing because it was accomplished with bots logging in.

Can't we all just appreciate that it might actually be a number that we SOHC4heads made.   :)

Ironic thing is, there were a couple of times that I remember Heffay ASKING for folks to kick in on certain day and shoot for a record (this was before the 222 was reached), AND it never happened either time. :-\ I really felt bad for him, he was all fired up and tried to get the folks to rally, in vain.

I'm glad it's UP there, but with ALL the members we have, it SHOULD be more, AS stated. Personally, I'm glad that things have gone as well as they have here and not gone away like some have. ;)

Thanks to Glenn, Bob and Steve (and the efforts of Tipper AND Heffay) to keep us all in line as best they can. :D

Why would bots be / need to be one here. I don't get it?

Funny, I don't recall that myself.  Not sure if the stats show registered vs non-registered, but any number for registered members online includes only real people. :-)  The only bots I'm aware of hitting the site regularly are the search engine bots - yahoo, google, and microsoft/bing most often.  I shouldn't forget the hackers from Eastern Europe who hammer away at us regularly since they are most likely automated.  Even so, they'd likely only count for 10% at most.

Thanks for all your hard work Glenn. I think that even 200+ users on at one time is pretty good, its been my experience that most fan's of bikes are not fans of computers.. ;) So having so many registered users is a proud accomplishment indeed.

Yeah Bill, some good contributions from those guys. Too bad Heffay got the raw ass and disappeared. Haven't heard from him since late summer perhaps. I'm sure he's just taking care of his new husbandly duties and doesn't have time for wrenching, only wenching.  ;)
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

Is this the thread you were talking about Bill?

I've kept a close eye on the stats as they happen and I'm afraid I'll have to disappoint you all.

At least half of those "users" were search agent bots. It's good that they notice our site because it gets us noticed on the search engines.  I suspect it's the same for most forums.

Heff's original post was to get the online community up above 100, then all of a sudden it exploded to 200+.

Took me a while but I finally found where I'd read it.  Helps to have some search words, thanks Bill.   :)   Off to read some more ancient threads.   ;D

Yeah, I remember that one well. I couldn't have found it that easy though. ::)
I agree, there's some pretty good reading back there as well. ;)
