see i have the opposite problem.  my gf (hey i'm only 25 and it's my longest relationship to date - 9 months, WOOO!!) deals with her stress by shutting up and closing her door.  likes to deal with her problems herself, but i've always had big ass shoulders and i care about everyone i know WAY more than most people would.  but hey, after you almost loose your dad twice, your mom once, your best friend before he's 21 and a couple other friends (BTW mom and best friend were within a week of each other), you learn to not care as much about some things, and try to make every moment with someone you care about and love worth it!  that's just me though, i'm very unique in that matter.  i also trust people WAY too much, WAY too early!  oh well, call me old fashioned, i still have faith in humanity!

but i'm an engineer/scientist/mechanic, so i like to think things through and find out how they work so i can learn.  i always have a thirst for knowledge, and my gf can be a bit ignorant at times.  this is an area we DON'T see eye-to-eye on.  she just wants to sit back, drink a beer and watch tv, while i'm browsing wikipedia or the forums, always trying to learn something new...

i'm slowly learning how to deal with her, in that i can't treat her like one of my buddies that i've known forever who will just blow my idiosyncrasies off because they just know me that well.  i told her that since i'm kind of dense in some respects that i need a little help dealing with her in that i need her to tell me when she needs to vent so i'll shut up, and when she doesn't care if i put my $.02 in.  i'm a lot better, but i still need to learn a lot!  and i need to read that damn book!!!  oh well, good advice abound in this thread!!  esp from Kit and Ron!!  nice work!   ;D

NICE jordan!!!  i got that e-mail awhile back, but it's TOO good!!!  good post!

ive only been married about two years and i come home and say im making "whatever" do u want some... if she says no and i know its food she likes i ask her when the last time she ate was and if its been more than three hours i make enough for her anyway because as soon as she smells it she always has room..... i used to ask her and her sister where they wanted to go for lunch..... a half an hour later they'd still have nothing decided and still like i dont know how about this  or how about that...... i only made that mistake once after that it was i want to go here do u wanna come..... and unless they had thier hearts set on somewhere else where ever i picked was fine

do any of you (ladies or gents) have a problem getting a simple yes or no answer for a simple yes or no question? like ohhhhhhhhhh..........i dont know.......asking your spouse if theyre hungry and would they like you to egt dinner started and instead of a yes or no, you get a 30 second long discourse on their digestive tract? when a simple yes or no would suffice? am i the only one that gets aggravated sometimes with this? am i just being an #$%*? inquiring minds want to know
Yes  ;)
