anyone here know how to use windows movie maker?
« on: December 11, 2009, 06:37:26 PM »
even with the help files i cant figure the damn thing out. i dowloaded a movie and it came in 2 seperate AVI files, what i want to do is combine then so when i use convertx to convert and burn them, the movie wont have the interruption in the middle. the instructions with windows movie maker made me even more confused. this is with Vista, in case that matters

drop and drag into the file area.
then take them from the file area into the working area.
export as file type of your preference.

tell me exactly what you're having trouble with and i'll walk you thru it.

When you drag and drop them into the "working area" (the long box at the bottom which is like a time line) as long as you have them in the right order, if these files are from the same video (in sequence so to speak) they should naturally blend together.
Save a copy first in a safe place on your computor so you can experiment as much as you like without worrying about losing or spoiling your films/files.
If by any chance there is still a "jump" between two files from the same video, then you can use the "transition effect" in movie maker to blend from one file to another or one piece of film to another, some of these are quite handy, my misses used them when putting a Mott the hoople video from the gig at hammersmith that was taken on different video cameras filmed from different parts of the auditorium.
Hope this helps.

May as well have been a Harley thread. "I bought a Harley and I can't make it go... nevermind, I bought a Honda, problem solved.  Thanks everyone".    ;D

Joking!
