My BMW /2 conversion took 4 years to build (pre-computer days), and will be with me always. (so far 
) My 1952 R67/2 took over a year to get right, looked better than any bike I've had in a very long time, and by the time it was finished- for some reason I just hated it and sold it. Stupid stupid stupid.
So; a lot of blood sweat and tears in the XS650. It looks tits and you learned a lot. But- you feel like you SHOULD love it but for whatever reason you don't and aren't really interested in riding it. In this instance; SELL IT. Don't trade it for another bike you don't really want. If you wanted that DR, you wouldn't be here. Get the money and decide what you want next -or when a bike grabs you by the collar and kisses you in a way you lose sleep over.
That will be the next one.

It also reminded me of the 4 yrs I spent rebuilding my Royal Enfield Continental GT.
I sold it in a fit of pique after small end seized on first run after about 7 miles (in fact, I sold 5 for less than value of one restored bike, just wanted rid of all of it
)
stupidest sale I've ever made, only took 3~4 hrs.
