I just hit $825 CAD...for mine... that's including the $300 purchase price and $200 travel expenses to get it....I have quite a ways to go...and I'm guessing to get it on the road, and make it a nice little burner....probably another $300-400 and tires. (I'm keeping it simple to be riding next summer on a tight budget)  My idea is to do more each winter when I cant ride...CHEERS TO many, many hours of labour.....
IT"S AWESOME!! I Love these Bikes!!

I'm just pulling up to the 2000 dollar mark, and the bike was free.
Making a bike look, accelerate, and handle better doesn't come cheap. But it sure is fun!!
My GIXXER friend always asks me "why spend all this money on such an old bike when you could buy a new one?"

I bought mine for $800 running and tried to give myself a $500 budget to fix it.
Looks like it will be double. Gaskets, rings, replacement rubber, chains, fork bits, broken bits, add up quick.

What the conversation often comes down to with the crotch rocket types...
"Can you kick start it your GSXR?"
"no, push button..."
"Then it ain't a real bike."

With the addition on my cafe tail, I am now at $410... Got a lot left to do, but I may get it done for under a grand. We'll see... The next project is starting off significantly more expensive... $425 for a almost complete 74 750k(and spare frame and motor of my 78)! Not sure how I will do that one. It has a king queen seat and big a$$ sissy bar on it. Maybe 70's Pimp Cruiser? Nah. I will probably do a racer like the '78. Full fairing maybe...

On my Honda CB550F SuperSport I have spent about $2250 which includes purchase price and delivery, parts (new and used),new tires, and new paint.. I believe it turned out very nice, even though I would probably be hard pressed to get that much out of it. Included is a very nice set of extra bodywork with excellent paint..... probably worth about $300, and I sold one of the old tires for $15.... so I think that means I have about $1935-1950 in the bike. Hard to tell in the pics, but it looks and runs like a new bike.... not a drop of oil or grease anywhere and the paint gleams in the sun. On my new build (Honda 750 Cafe), I have budgeted about $1000-1200 to get it completed. If interested you can read about it in the "projects" section of this site, where I will post pics of my progress........Dew.
