I am very proud of the fact that I have so little invested in my bike. I am just curious how much cash you all have spent getting your SOHC projects completed...
So far(and I am FAR from done) I have spent a whopping $250. I am hoping(and never going to make it) to do this thing for a grand... So, you tell me, how much money have you spent???

So far with the triple disc brakes rebuilt, carbs cleaned, custom stainless muffler and with new right control under $900. Still need brake line for the extra disc and left sidecover. There are some small dents in the tank, I'm hoping to find a better tank to avoid paint. Lucky find. My brother and I bought a nice 76 wing and this bike not running with new parts for $1500 He got the best deal, that wing is sweet.

@ Don R I remember reading about that deal ya'll got... Glad you two could decide who got what. If I had an opportunity like that I would have kept it a secret from my brother and had two classic bikes!!! Nice CB for under a grand. Though the tank, cable, and side cover will put you over a bit!!!

So far, including the cost of the original bike, i have about $7500 in it and its not a restoration....

Will be well over 10 grand when finished...

I have about 400 bucks in my 350F.

So far on the 750 build, 1200 bucks. I have budgeted 3K for what i want done.

650 was 1100 bucks, with probably about 200 dollars in maintenance over a year of riding.

Ramen noodles pay for my motorcycle habit.

Awesome LOOK on your 750! Are the color and tank stripes from a 350 or 450? Seems like I've seem those on one or more of the Honda twins. Great LOOK!

And are my eyes playing tricks on me or is the gas tank from the same bike that the stripes and color go with?

Thanks guy's !! Everyone here has made me feel great with their comments. The gas tank is from a cl450. I like the looks of a smaller tank on the cb750's. It makes the engine look larger and the bike leaner looking.

My next build is going to be a supercharged cb750 using a fageol supercharger like this .............

So how does this setup work? I'm going out on a limb hear but the intake manifold is on the top and hooks straight to the head? Then there is a mounting bracket to help stabilize the unit center left? Then the middle center piece is for a carb hookup? But I have no idea what the far right piece does. So does this setup come with nearly everything to get the basic idea of the supercharger installed or do you have alot of machine time after everything? What is the basic price of it?

I know this is alot of questions but I am curious. I can always start a new thread or PM you if that is easier.

I believe the part on the far right is the drive pulley. It mounts somehow to the crank and spins the supercharger via a belt. What is the cost involved blue71turbo???

Ill be at about 1300 when I'm done.

Rebuilt caliper, ebc pads, ss lines, rebuilt m/c, drilled rotor
new tires, new DID chain, new sprockets
drag bars, new grips, bar end mirrors
650 cam, new rings, lapped valves, head gasket
points and condensers
recovered seat with gel insert
rearsets
750 tank, new petcock, new fuel lines, all 4 carbs rebuilt, homemade manometer to sync
H4 conversion
Fresh paint

I have not completed everything up there, but have all the parts to and it will be done by spring.

I really think I can get all my money out of this bike.......IF I could sell it. But, I would get nothing for my hundreds of hours of time.

Don't plan on selling anytime soon!

Not to mention all the knowledge I gained out of this bike

So far I am just under $1000 total, but I have about $500 worth of stuff I want to do this winter. Stainless brake lines, new pads, steering head bearings, wheel bearings, tires, the list goes on. I was keeping an accurate spreadsheet with my expenses, but I was getting discouraged at how fast little things like fasteners add up.
Also I did not include specialized tools like tappet feeler gauges, spark plug wrench, carb sync tool, long snap ring pliers, etc, only the parts themselves.

LOL! I'm chasing Mike Rieck's record Billion dollar CB. My bike cost be $330 and I've spent another $38,000 at current exchange rate. No - that's not a typo, just don't tell the wife she's housing the Billion pound CB!

The Clymer Manual on the CB350F gives a fairly good description of how to make a manometer for about 3 bucks. Here is a link that shows how a very cheap one is made.

This link shows the basic idea, and it's pretty simple to make one that works for 4 cylinder engines.
