Not your standard CB750 restoration, it's more a sample of "Deviant Behavior". Slated for completion summer 2010 I have much more to do before I knock it down to apply paint and polish. I have ridden her to test some key design areas with minor changes on the blackboard.

What exhaust is that?

I like the way it follows the line of the lower frame rail.

The tank is from Kustom Khrome and the frame is a CycleX pro-boxer with an 18" rear and 21" front. The tank was an 1 1/2" too long for the frames backbone, so I needed to scallop the sides of the tunnel to make room for the seat side bars.

The donor bike had a 4-2-1 exhaust with the Kirker megaphone. I chopped the 4-2-1 and made a 4-1 and used the original Kirker megaphone. I am going to ceramic coat the primaries and collector pipes flat black and rechrome the megaphone.

It's a DNA wideglide front end I bought from Liquid Choppers, they also sell NOS pieces for the CB750's. The rear disc I bought from the Wheel Shop in Pheonix Az when I went to the Grand Canyon this year, I don't know what it's off of, just know it'll fit an '84 to '96 Harley. I brought 50 pounds of chrome back in the airplane. They loved me at the security gate.... ahahahaha!

To be honest I am not a fan of the old school choppers with the peanut tank, extended forks and sissy bars. I wanted to create something that gave that "boardtrack style racer" with a modern look. Not sure what she'll look like with paint, but that's what I'm planning. Thus the name "Deviant" which will be worked into something, ie battery cover or seat leather.

. It's good to see some other people building cool looking hardtails. I'm looking foward to seeing your progress. My bike is going for paint and powder coat this winter as well.

Would have like to have used the holidays to work on mounting a rear fender, but the fenders didn't arrive in time. Always the way, things never arrive when you want them!

Been awhile, working now and then to finish all of the fabrication on this build. Last week the last of the welding on the frame was completed. I sent the header pipes off to be ceramic coated along with a couple of boxes of small parts for powdercoating. I found a leatherworker close to home and sent my seat pan to be covered... I think he did a great job

Just the tins need to be sent to the painter as soon I get some cash saved up. Going to spend some time now finishing up small details, painting and heat shrinking wiring. Jeez I hope I remember how everything goes back together!

The hardtail I had used to shake stuff loose all teh time, so I advise the usage of locktite on re-assembly...

Is the motor a stock 736cc?

What color.....black? (that would be the way to go for me PERSONALLY)

Thanks Joe, it's one of Ken's (CycleX) pro-boxer hardtails and red locktite flows through my veins.

No the motor is one of Ken's Streetfighters, so there are 849cc pistons in it with the PowerArc ignitions. I have only rolled it around the parking lot a couple of times, so I don't know what she'll do. But she sure sounded real mean with that exhaust with no baffles.

A man after my own taste, there is only one color for a bike and black she will be. Can't wait'til spring. I'll be broke but pleased I think.
