Have you gone through the carbs; the float needle valve isn't working clearly. It's got a dirty seat or is damaged...or the float isn't moving freely in the float bowl. Or you could have a leaky float causing it (hole in the float).
Uh just to clarify, is it leaking out of the float bowl gasket area or overflow?
If float bowl gasket, then you need a new gasket or the bowl has a problem. Could be an undersized gasket if it has new gaskets.
Glad you got it running.
The big GSs are nice bikes, great for long distances if you have a good comfortable saddle.
Yea, I replaced the float needle and the seat it sits in. So I am guessing its either a hole in the float, tho I don't think so since all 4 are leaking the same way, or the float level, seems the most likely cause. I did replace the float bowl gasket on all of them as it came in the kit I picked up. It did this before I even touched the carbs so I am guessing the PO mucked things up, and I did not adjust the float levels since I did not have the info when I was doing it.
The odd part about this bike, and maybe its the same on all Suzuki's is the petcock is vacuum operated, that is when on reg setting gas does not flow until a vacuum is created. They do give an over ride called PRI (as mentioned in the video) and reserve seems to bypass this also. I don't believe it has anything to do with what is going on, however it was just some thing I found odd.. But then I am a newb with bikes and carbs so...
