Glad to be here.
« on: December 29, 2005, 07:48:52 AM »
Just got my first bike since college (the early '70s), a 1976 CB750.  Absolutely beautiful.  Everything works and it runs strong and tight.  Got it on eBay and had it shipped to Dallas from Binghamton, NY.

I love to stand in the garage and just look at it.

Love my Shoei RF-1000 too.

Other than eBay, what sources are there that anyone knows of for NOS HM341s.  The sellers on ebay must be getting them somewwhere.

That is all for now.

You want NOS exhaust??? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
Ok now that that is over with. I think the ebay scroungers have found most anything to be had at motorcycle shops.
You might find a barn bike but even those are drying up.

You could however try a couple of sites listed in the FAQs.
One is david silver spares and the other is csmnl or something like that.
Just go to the main page and go to the faqs and there will be a link to click that will show various places to get parts.

Was the laughter generated because of the scarcity of NOS HM341s or do you perceive the desire for such to be a bad idea?

Scarcity....which causes me to laugh cause of the futility! These exhausts are hard to find and many are so expensive, even the beat up ones have gone for a fair cost. You used to be able to get replacements from honda but they were about$800 for a set.

I came to the conclusion that Icould do 1 of 3 things.
I could get a set of drag pipes from mac. Loud and no performance increase really and lots of rejetting. BAD!

I could get a 4-2 or 4-1 system. Good performance but somewhat costly. Probably the best option but still needs rejetting sometimes.

I could get 4 new slip-ons and weld them on. Good as I can choose what style I want. No rejetting is usually needed unless baffles are removed.  Then I could either leave the weld joint since they are not too visable or rechrome the pipes. Rechrome would cost a good amount but would look very good.
Finding oem pipes can really suck.

Actually you can still buy NOS exhaust for the 1976 cb750 from any honda dealer. $1,100 + $165 for collars etc

Hi Bob,

I thought I was the only old fool in this forum, sitting in his garage with a beer, eyeing up his new bike like it was the Mona fricken' Lisa on wheels.

Welcome to the forum..have fun!!

Hahah guys! I looked at BB for over 5 months before I ever successfully road it!

I would just "caress" it with my eyes whenever I walked past it in the garage!  And walk out of the garage with a HUGE smile!

Funny!

Linda

And someone tell me about these "slip-ons??" thingys for exhaust.
