Air filter spring. Necessary?
« on: December 14, 2009, 08:32:25 am »
Hi
It's a CB350F

Air filter wasn't installed when I got my motorcycle so I'm trying to get new air filter(#2).
Then I noticed air filter spring ( #3).
Since I've never seen any picture of filter installed, importance of this spring is in mystery.
Do I really need the spring in order to install an air filter?
Does it come with the filter?

Thank you

I took a hose clamp and bent it in half. Works great  :D

Looks like it keeps the air filter '2' snugly against the inlet '6' to keep unfiltered air from entering the intake.  I'd suggest bending up a wire coat-hanger to replace the spring if it would be springy enough....
