Long-time-lurker, first-time-poster here. I've been slinking around these forums for quite some time now, and the knowledge I've been able to glean thus far has been amazingly helpful, so I figure it's about time to introduce myself. I picked up a 1972 CB500F (my first bike
) from Craigslist last year, and it was in good enough condition to get me through my first riding season. Now that I've had my immediate fun, I'm ready to put some time into her, to get her in even better shape for this year. I guess I'll start with the glaringly obvious (the leaky carbs, deteriorating front fork boots, busted tail light, and missing electric start button) and progress from there. Trouble is, even these simple things might prove a challenge for someone as mechanically disinclined as myself. Luckily, I have you fellas along for the ride
. So as the title implies, I'm living in Cincinnati right now but moving to Asheville at the end of this month. Sadly, I won't be able to ride the bike down until warmer weather this spring which means no working on her for a few months, but I'm sure it will be worth it once I get her all gussied up. One last thing, and this may be a long shot, but I seem to remember seeing an ad about a year ago on the Asheville Craigslist about a vintage bike mechanic in the area who was big into customer participation. Sounds like a great deal, I really want to learn this stuff. I've been searching high and low for more information on this gentleman, but I keep coming up short. Perhaps one of you fine folks from the area could point me in the right direction. Any help is much appreciated, and I'm very pleased to finally make all your acquaintances

Oh yeah, I also promise not to talk so much next time
