My Buddy's Favorite Pasttime AND Business!
« on: December 14, 2009, 08:14:57 PM »

Got a buddy who is into building and restoring Mopars and here is an example:

This WAS his car, he sold it.

       This IS his Wife's car.

Some of HIS work, a Hemi Challenger CLONE

       67' GTX 426 Hemi/ 4sp car/ Numbers matching!

       Found at http://www.maniacmusclecars.com/index.html

I thought this was interesting and THOUGHT others might, as well. ;)

I have to say that the Red Cuda would really knock your socks off, in person and that 360 engine sounded AWESOME! 8) But, I sure would throw stones at the GTX either! I remember then the GTX AND (the Dodge counterpart)the Coronet R/T came out, I was ready to go GET ONE, except for the cash flow (or lack of it), I would have! I DID check out a NICE metallic blue 67' GTX back in 70' and it was a 4sp car as well. Biggest thing that stopped me was the 69' "Petty Blue" road runner that was sitting not far away! Most of you KNOW what I did (which one I bought) and why! ;) Yep, THAT blue runner was MY KEY to meeting Brenda (even though I didn't know it at the time). 8)

                                            Take care, Bill ;)

Yes it is, Mike. I just got it a little while back! Bit of a story behind it. I NEVER in my wildest dreams thought I'd EVER have another road runner and I don't, it is a 69' Plymouth GTX (Same body style, only fancier). The color Gold, is the same color that Brenda's road runner was (that she had when I met her). The wide black racing stripes are like the ones that MY 69' road runner had (that I had and was what caused Brenda to notice me) and it is a four speed car (like my Red 66' Charger was, that I traded for the road runner, that caught Brenda's eye). Fact is, I accidentally found this car on ebay and it is the only one I've ever seen that was the same color as Brenda's road runner. This car was located in Durant, Oklahoma (a few hours away) and I managed to do a deal on it. I had a plate made for the front of the car that is in Tribute to Brenda.
                         It simply says:  Miss
Brenda     and has a pink rose on the right side of the plate. Soon as I can, I'll get some pictures of it and post them. Yep, MY way of paying tribute to my Wife of 38 and a half years.

Big difference is, this car's 440 has "Lots Of Guts"
