Ever mention the word cafe bikes to kids now days on crotch rockets ? Most of them have no idea what your talking about, or beleave you how it got it's name.

sounds like a kid that will learn the hard way.... in the next day news crash, they make it easy now with payments for a 200mph show room floor bike to be bought by idiots. Then later he will learn that bikes, sleds, cars etc.... are all going to retro..... for money in the bank later on. everthing else now days are throw aways...................

i rode race bikes for years before I slowed down to a cruiser and my cafed 550. So many kids buy the fastest bike they can afford but, don't know what the #$%* to do with it. I would say 50% of them can't use the bikes power unless there going in a straight line. Was this clown wearing flip flops and a wife beater?
Don't get me wrong, I loved pulling wheelies but, I always wore gear and I could handle what I was riding.

Fast bikes don't make fast riders..

We've noticed that "rocket" riders almost never ride alone......and are hardly ever seen outside of town. They spend hours just cruising up and down the boulavard.

I would've got down, looked that headlight straight in the filament, and told him that he needed to get a real rider.

Oh yea. Talking to peoples bikes erks them at bike night. They all stand around saying whatever they feel like about my greenie then I walk up and join in and correct them on cc's and what not. Later, when you see them around their bike, that's when you get to tell the bike that just because it's owner doesn't know anything doesn't mean that he has to park with the chrome couches.

Also, a couple local kids constantly refer to my bike as a "Cafe" I disagree but, they don't listen.

yeah i had a ride on a mates r1,im 51 and have ridden lots of bikes,this was the most late model one though,shheesh,does anyone actually get that power down to its maximum?a young kid on one of these type bikes should wear as much gear as he can,the temptation to use that grunt will only lead to higher speeds,biggest bike ive owned was a vf750.

I have been lucky enough to drag race a couple of stock and heavily modified Kawasaki ZX-14R's.

Talk about power.... Hayabusa be damned. Even stock they are the meanest baddest thing in the "Rocket" community.

Suprisingly they are very comfortable to handle...... for a milk truck.
