1976 cb750f wiring?
« on: December 17, 2009, 07:34:35 PM »
Hi guys. New guy here with his first question. First off, I recently purchased my first motorcycle project, a 1976 cb750f. It's really my second bike as I had a 1974? cb360 about 15 years ago but I never really wrenched on it. So I have grand plans for this one!!

Any how after looking for an actual factory service manual I settled for a Clymers and it's a little incomplete, There seems to be a wiring schematic for every k model and one for the 1975 f and one for the 1978/79 f, none labeled for the 1976f. The same goes for the diagrams found on this site.

Can any one tell me where the 1976F fits in all this?

Thanks in advance for any and all help here and in the future.

Matt

Matt,

75F & 76F are identical except for colors and a few updates along the way just as Honda has done with all it's bikes.

I have not seen the Clymers manual but others have mentioned that the electrical drawings are not accurate.
Here is a members site that has a nice drawing.  http://home.comcast.net/~bkirchhoff1/site/?/photos/

Actually it seem that my Clymers shows the K8 on 197, the '77 f on p198, and the '78f on p199, the A on p200 and the UK models on p201. There dosen't seem to have ever been a p204.

Very strange.

hey there twin.  My name is Matt as well....and I also have a 1976 Cb750F.  I got my copy of factory service manual from service manual club.  freee to join and download.  I have it saved to hard drive and transfered to disc.  You canfind a complete wire diagram in there.  Although best thing to do is separate and rewire in following manner....ignition......lights...........charging......and starting.   Feed it all from battery instead of from alternator.  Hope this helps.
