New special CB500 owner from Duesseldorf/Germany
« on: December 16, 2009, 07:52:42 AM »
Hi there!

i am a member of the german "CB 750 Four Club". At first i must say i am sorry for my really bad english
but i hope you will understand me. After i have take a small look around on this forum i am really astonished about the lot of detailed informations. In our local forum it isn´t so.
I own my CB500 since 1986 and since that time the bike is in a constant prozess of development.
Here are two pics. First pic is made 1994 in Twente/Netherland at an event for historic vehicles. Some races on an airplanefield.
Second is the actually state of my bike. Engine based on a CB550 bottom with some CB650 parts. It has 611 ccm. Swingarm and frontdiscs are from Suzuki´s 1986 GSXR and the fork is from Yamaha´s 2004 R6. Frontcallipers are 2piston brembo´s and rear is GSXR K4, also the disc.
I hope you will enjoy my pics and posting.

Regards,

Thanks for your praise!

@ Steve:
I don´t get to any of the well known European Classic races. But i raced at the "Grab the Flag" races in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008. This year i am gone for a technical break ;). There are normally three events through the year. The events are at the Pannonia-Ring/Hungaria, Schleiz/ex EastGermany and Rijeka/Croatia. In Schleiz it is the "German Classic GP" and the IHRO´s have also their races at the same event. It is a funny event because the racetrack goes over the naturally streets similar the track of Isle of Manx (but only 3800 meter)  and there are a crowd of real enthusiasts. There are two races in each class at Pannonia-Ring and Rijeka but only one race each class in Schleiz.
The pic below is made in Schleiz 2006 during my race.

Hi Holdingfast.

I´m sorry about my late response, but all the christmas stress ;).
I´ve got the gas tank a few years ago from a good friend of mine.
All what i know about this item is that it was made in GB/UK.
But in my opinion here in Germany is a dealer/manufacturer where you can get
a new one like mine. >http://www.wbo-racing.de/<
I´m sure there will be some other manufacturers.
But it´s a little bit expensive to get a new one ;).

Here another pic from the left side of my bike.

Regards,
