Anybody Know Where I can Locate 440 Hood emblems?
« on: December 17, 2009, 06:59:29 PM »

I sure would like to have a pair of "440" emblems to go on the hood of my GTX. The P.O. put some on there, but they were (no pun intended mickeyX) "Mickey Mouse!"

Here is what I need , but I hope not to have to pay $155 Buy It Now         http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=350242493251&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT

I'd like for it to look GOOD, but not for THAT price! I've GOT 1 383 emblem, guess I could put THAT on there and try to find another.   NOT! ::)

Did you look in any of the mop mags?   I used to get mopar muscle and they seemed to have a bunch of adds in the back for stuff.   Dont know about price though.  Surly the reproduction marked has them also.

I've checked on Year One, with no results. I've contacted 6pkrunner, who has given me some leads that have them a little cheaper and may end up going with them, if nothing else. I belong to a Mopar group called "Great Plainz Modern Mopars" (they accepted me even though MY Mopars aren't Modern. :D ) They have chapters in Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri & Arkansas and two chapter presidents (Kansas & Oklahoma) are checking out some leads for me as well. I've found a few places online, that I have sent inquiries to and waiting for replies. Funny how something so simple as a pair of emblems that consist of the numbers 4 4 0, can be such a pain to locate, without spending a bunch. ::) Just like to replace those funky little numbers that the P.O. put on there. I guess I should give him credit for trying, but they look goofy to me.

Wow, I'm surprised Year One and the like don't have 'em repopped.

When I had a Pontiac Lemans a few years back, you could get repo numbers of ALL the different motor sizes - 326, 350, 400, 455

Kirk, I was surpeised too. Year one had the 440 sixpack, 440 Magnum and 440,  fourbarrel, but no plain "440". They've got all kinds of stuff though. My GTX didn't have the glovebox insert and I got one from Year One, pretty reasonable. 8)

That might have been a better possibility quite a few years back. ;D But, you just don't see them OUT THERE anymore. :-\

Thanks pee wee, those were what I was looking for. Those were for $40.95 ea. though and I found them (with the help from 6pkrunner) from  Monicatti Mopar Performance Parts Store for $34.85 ea. And just think, I could have gotten them on ebay for $155 for the pair (that's $77.50 ea.) :o ::) Still pretty costly, but they sure will do the old girl proud! (and look tons better than those CHEAP looking things that are on there NOW!)

Thanks folks, I appreciate the efforts on this. Never Know, I COULD be back for something else, next thing you know. ::) Bill ;)
