I've used reamers to take a set of main jets from 130 to 150 or from 52 to 55 with no issues. The reamers are tapered the entire length, come in various overlapping sizes, and brass is relatively soft. With patience you can go
up whatever size you want. Just keep checking and reaming and checking and reaming and...
Reamers are better than drill bits in that the taper keeps things even and centered, and you can sneak up on the size you want. I've used drill bits with some success, but usualy it gets ugly
Reamers aren't the answer for every situation, though. For example the idle jet on a Honda 350Four has an emulsion tube on the end of it - that would make it a little more challenging since neither the reamer nor the gauge can really reach the part that needs to be reamed (circled).
