Oh and I've gotta say, Trevor's 350 is freaking CLEAN. It looks super nice. All original paint. Definitely a lot nicer than mine. Mine has enough "patina" for about 3 bikes.

Dennis I got to ask..
How did this compare to say.. the Bonneville GP".. ???

I see they had REAL roaddog touring rigs there.  :o... a 350-4 no less! sorta reminds me of what I rode last fall to Miller.. ;)

Frank.........RA vs Miller at Tooele is very different..........RA has a 4 mile track with hills.......lots of shade trees for spectators..........lots of lawn and no dust.  The show attracted more bikes and a wider variety in bad weather, and also had a 40-mile ride. Two aspects were missing......Miller had more sidecars and the CB160 LeMans-start.  RA now has moto-X; X-Country; and Observed Trials to go along with all of the road racing. Flat-track racing on a 1/3 mile oval is planned for next year at one of the nearby tracks. The crowd was larger but spread-out. The campground areas have real sod and good close-by showers.  The paved patron-drive around the 400+acre grounds is an adventure with curves and hills. The food concession is real versus plastic.....but the coffee is about the same. The 3-day swap-meet had 78 vendor spaces sold and from early reports was considered very successful for a 1st-year event. We have room to double the spaces at the current location or move to a larger area with room for 500 or more vendors.

".....but the coffee is about the same."

Da$n!! $3 per cup there, too??? Where's $tarbuck$ when you need one?....

Although, I must say that the Bratwurst & Swiss Omlett was probably the best I've ever had. And the folks running the concessions were terrific.

For those of you who haven't had the chance to experience RA & SE WI, I'll say: You need to go!
Absolutely the most beautiful area in the upper Mid-West.

Miller is in the middle of no where! Nice track, great garages and Tom Cullin makes that event fantastic, but it's  in no where's-ville.

Yes, that way no one complains about the noise etc.. If it were being held closer to Milwaukee some one would surely make laws to cut down on the fun!..

The bike started life as a 1976 CB 750 K.  It's had a few changes made to it in the years since.

It and you seem to handle the curves like a pro.. If you don't blow that up to poster size and frame it I don't know why...
I see no tail light, am I to assume that its a race track only bike?

Hey Dennis...don't be so dang modest....your 750 does look as good as that picture I put on this thread. Click the pic if you don't believe me. I think it is so cool how you bought that bike in 73 and have kept it all those years. Good for you man. That is something most of us can not say we did...nice showing Dennis!!!

It's kinda funny when I go out and find a set of twisties, I think I'm riding so hard and the bike seems to be on the edge of control, but then I see a picture of Big Bob totally hangin off the side of his racer, I realize I aint doin' #$%*! I've gotta find some track days that looks too fun! Awesome pictures guy's. Bob you got any pitures of your ride?

Yah, Big Bob is a good guy. He almost gave me his sandcast at the show. But his girl said "no".  ;D

If you're really interested we've got a track day coming up at Blackhawk Farms.  One group will be all vintage bikes.  If you've got good tires and your bike doesn't leak you should come out.  $150 gets you 6 or 7 sessions on the track with instruction included.

Awesome pictures guy's. Bob you got any pitures of your ride?

I do.  I'll try to post up some more of them this weekend.  A friend of mine got a BUNCH of shots of me at Road America.

At some point I'll have to type up a rehash of the many conversations I had with Ken and his guys from Cycle X.

Back to work.

Thanks for the comp's Johnie...........Maney years ago I tried to save my original pipes but fumes from a leaky bottle of acid in my shed turned them to tinsel.  I found this set of pipes hiding in the storage at a custom shop in Milwaukee. The motor has about 4,000 milies on it (total of about 70,000) after a .25mm piston replacement a couple of years ago. I had heavy duty shock springs on it until last year when I returned to stock.  I bought the 1st sandcast 750 sold in Wisconsin back in '69.  After 20,000+ miles I sold it to a friend in late '71 and bought the new K3 in early '73. Its never let me down on the road. I am still using the original clutch cable and just changed the throttle cables for the 1st time. I have never had to adjust the clutch. The original main fuse recently failed but the spare is just fine. The odd thing that happened on Saturday just before the ride event was my starter button decided to fall apart.  Thank goodness for the kick-starter.

I like this one because you can see the bottom of my left foot.

By the way - I never, ever ride like this on any public road.  Save that #$%* for the track.

Awesome Big Bob, I figured you did not ride that aggressive on the public streets. I know I would never that, too much pea gravel and oil to trust even the best looking road.
