I feel for you guys, really, I do.  This morning here in Orlando, it's a bitter 49 degrees and bright sunshine.

Yesterday, my son and I went riding in the Tosohatchee Wildlife Mgt. Area, about 15 miles south of us.  Nice riding.  Sunny and 65 degrees.  Me on my '77 Hodaka 250SL and him on his '88 Honda NX250.

Here we're dead-ended at the St. John's River.  This is getting pretty close to the headwaters, which then flow on up to Jacksonville to the ocean.

And here's just a shot along one of the side trails that ends at the lake in the background.  Saw a couple gators sunning themselves, and lots of different birds.  Even a few rednecks...

MAN, that picture from Andy just looks BLEAK.  I can't imagine looking at that same picture 3 MONTHS from now!!  I'm just totally spoiled from 30 years in south and central FL.   ;D

Cool that you and your son can get out like that, the Hodaka looks pretty cool too!

Yeah, I am still thinking about what the weather was like down there, when I went down to pickup the Shelby Charger at Delray Beach. Beautiful weather, I could certainly dig it. 8)

That photo of Andy's really made me appreciate OUR weather, even if it IS cold, to me. ;)

Sunday Snow Rise. Even though I was in a crappy mode, we lost power last night and I was up building a fire in the
inside stove at 3 am. I was out feeding at sunrise and went back and got the camera.

Yes, you are very lucky there.  I drove the Blue Ridge Parkway in my friend's Porsche 930 back in June.  Very beautiful.

Great shots you got there!

Dave,
you need snow to really appreciate a spring thaw.
Well, that's what I tell myself anyways.  ;D

I have lived in Minnesota all my life and I am just starting to lose my tolerance for winter.  When I was younger (17-22) we would go winter camping in the BWCA along the Canadian border with just sleeping bags, ground cloth, and a tarp for shelter.  We would use a combination of snow shoes and skis.  Man, you knew you were alive, in the wilderness, on your own, on the edge and out of touch with the world.  Now I am content to snuggle up in front of the fireplace with a good woman, a book, and a bottle of wine.  My plan is to eventually get away for the winter, it's no country for old men. ;)

Went out for a 2+ mile run (to get in shape for soccer season) with the dog yesterday.
It wasn't too bad out, 15F plus 20-30mph wind gusts.
Only problem was breaking / thawing the ice from my mustash afterwards.  ;D

Makes me appreciate the warm, 40F + days.
