Not sure how you can really truthfully come to that conclusion without actually seeing the frame first hand. It is an odd design for sure but that does not make it bad. Only potentially bad spot might be at the back of the tank where the top of the rigid connects to the frame but you cant really see how it is braced.
Those low res pics do not really enable a person to make anything but an opinion really.

Still think its a good bike to ride?  ;) 8)

It could be. No way to tell without looking first. Just like with a cb. After all, even a cb can have frame rust and cracks that do not show up in pics now can't they.

Frame is a mess.. not from HD, its a butchered aftermarket frame..

Ahem.... Spoiler alert.

John Olin - VP/Controller/CFO of HD & HDMoCo

"HDMoCo has NEVER.... nor will EVER.... make a frame for any other engine that isn't rebadged a HDMoCo. We have never made in the past, even for racing teams, a frame that was designed for anything other than a HDMoCo product. If the person you are referring to has claimed that the frame was made by HDMoCo they are wrong, and if it is decided they will be pursued to the fullest extent of the law."

As quoted by Mr. Olin on the phone this morning. My father (a staunch HD supporter) decided to call his friends and complain. Never knew he knew someone so high up.
I wonder, seeing how chopped that frame is could it be that it was a custom frame for a HDMco motor that was customized to fit the CB750 motor?

I would say that is what it started as. .. I suppose he maybe  ??? thought it added  value, or saleability  ??? by saying it came from Harley.
Which is what I dont like about the whole deal, the trumpet horn maybe looks like a HD part  neither wheels tank, forks or other stuff , looks HD.. except IIRC the rear fender  , might be, and taillight looked like off a deuce.. I didnt look real long.

.........................................................................

Now I know HD is pretty protective and has people checking ebay auctions a lot. Back when I was selling , I got warned or had to change description.. I started to get a bit PO'd and was thinking of contacting them, to tell them what I was thinking.

think it was 2 pcs.. I had a jug off a Bantam, Hummer or DKW, that was listed as a Hummer barrel; probably with a question mark as well as Bantam in the description. Cant remember all the details, but if they got on me about it, I was going to politely remind them that they were being pretty rabid  about a product that was not even a product they designed, it was handed over to them as a "spoils of war" deal.

I wonder what they would say to that..?

Yea, I live in Harley country so we see the protection they exhibit. In all fairness the moment they don't actively protect the trademark it could fall into public domain like alot of other things I am sure that is why they are so protective of it. Personally HD does nothing for me, I have many on this block and get tired of hearing them. But that's just me.

the bike was built for the father in law but now he has medical problems
no title with the bike
so the father in law was going to ride the bike without a title
sounds like a scam
