Hell yes!  I'm trying to decide how I want to do the finish.....

16" rear Lesters are easily found, but the 18" rear  with the 550 hub are as rare as a Hyashi.

what about masking off or polishing the lip and getting them powder coated a dark bronze?

No problemo.  You should try building one of these bikes down under mate......bloody expensive, but like i said, i have a vision and to hell with the costs....This one will be a keeper..

Good idea, in that it would match the tank.. I am assuming you would hire that out given how difficult that will be..

That would look awesome.  They are really nice wheels and they hold their finish when polished.  You would be looking at alot of hours to smooth the rough cast spokes.  I like the idea of windowing the spokes myself and almost did it to mine but I couldn't bnring myself to do it.

This is what I mean by windowing.  These aren't Lesters but very similar 7 spoke mags.

no.....I would have the entire wheel polished out.  Front and rear.  Easy to maintain....just polish them a bit once in awhile...just like my tank and seat!

Nice find! Your build looks insane as is but I gotta say polished Lesters would be taking it to the next level They'd look spot on with your tank and seat combo.

Really dig all the work you've done so far. Great job!

I'm shopping around a bit for a polisher for a reasonable price.

There are just things about mags I like......easier to clean, tubeless tires, and maintenance free.


(I'm really stoked to get them here!  I've wanted these since I got the bike, but had all but given up on finding the set I REALLY wanted....then luck came along......Must be God's will.    )

It sure is nice to have at least a few on here understand what I am saying....the rest are acting all butt hurt over me daring to spend MY OWN money as I see fit (damn Marxists!)

What's done is done....and I got the wheels I have ALWAYS wanted for this bike!  It's the same as my tank and seat.  I didn't LIKE spending alot of money, but I wouldn't have been happy without it looking the way I wanted it to.  I made the choice to do the wheels and other stuff over a 650/550 motor.  The wheels are already paid for and are in the mail.  They are mine.  Now, I get to figure out how to make them unique to suit ME.
