Hey Joe,

You should look into the combined rec/reg that are on ebay and other various sites. You get a combined unit about the size of a pack of cigarettes that gets rid of the nasty old Honda bits. I have on on project 13 and it works great. Might help minimize even more junk from the harness.

Wiring harness arrived....not what I want, but I am able to take it apart, and use what I wanted out of it.....I want a MINIMAL wiring setup....and I now have the parts to make it so!

Gonna start tackling it this weekend!

One thing I did notice, was that the original was bolted together, so it could be rebuilt....the new one the bolt holes have been used to rivet it together......idea being, no more rebuild.....cost cutting.

The way of things these days.....if you ever need to rebuild, I guess you just drill the rivets out, tap the holes, and insert bolts. $:-\$

Okay, the bike is wired now.

Here is the new switch panel....I replaced the other one, as I needed an additional hole. You can also see the regulator and solenoid under the bum stop.

The electrical all works as expected....good news!

Got the bike outside and wiped her down, and rubbed out the tank and seat a bit.

In Decemeber, the bike started right up and ran fine. Now, she will only run with the choke all the way out and the throttle floored

.....so I will have to take the bottom off the carbs, and spray some carb cleaner through them and re-install....what a pain!

The end is near though......Waiting on my Lesters as well. $:-\$

Thanks, Scott....but in all HONESTY it isn't nice enough.

Just photographs well.......I didn't do a ground up build....just a "cafe conversion" and spent alot of $$$$$ on a tank/seat, and wheels.

Appreciate the kinds words though.....just happy to be a member of the club.

Its a great build weather you tore it down to the frame or just did parts here and there. Really very few make such mods with out spending money on tanks and other parts...

Its a great build, look at your Times Read for the post.. Way more then most builds..

Well, the airbox is going "bye-bye".

I have 4 of these coming in

These are the 35mm EMGO pods that actually fit a 550 frame.

Since the carbs have to come off and be gone through, I am going to simplify my setup and create more "open space" around the triangle.

Now, I'll just have to get some baseline adjustments to get them to work right.

I have those, I did not have to do anything different to the carb setup. In fact if you check Hondaman's faqs on these he says most of the time nothing needs to be done to the carbs when switching to pods.. I can tell you I did not do anything an it ran just as strong as it did with the stock filter..

Yes and we are all waiting to see those wonderful rims.. Thought I had a line on a Free 77 CB750K, the guy across the street from me (a Retired vet) just got 2 freebies.. Both are in rough shape, and he is only keeping the 77 Automatic CB750K and is going to let the other go, however it has no title and I don't think I want to go thru with that however it has Lesters on it so........... To be continued!
