PM sent Mick.

This carb leak makes ZERO sense.  I have started a thread reference this in the sohc/4 section.

bike looks great, but you probably aren't done. I thought I was done but I am still changing and fixing things. Also for those of use following, or pretending to follow we hope you aren't done too  ;D.

I've got some PD's left, do you need a complete carb or just a body?

Joe, I was re-reading this, and I think instead of changing out the carbs.. it maybe better to do this..

By HondaMan:
Hop-ups: Add 4 teeth to the rear sprocket and get a cam. Don't get high lift, get longer duration - BUT: not a LOT more duration, because it is a small-bore engine. A little goes a long way. Adding 5 degrees of overlap and 10 degrees of duration should be your limit for non-racing driving: it will REALLY wake up the "mid-four". Don't bother with bigger carbs: port it in the head instead. The stock carbs can make a lot more HP than they do: make a "pocket" above the intake valve, then raise the exhaust ports about 2-3 mm and smooth 'em out. This will add up to 10 HP to this neat engine, which is a lot.

Just a thought..

Either, but need a 46A model.  Prefer a complete #1 carb.

PM sent.

Any help would be appreciated.

Name the cost...seriously.  I have too much time and energy invested to not get it finished up like it should be.

Fighting hard to keep depression from setting in. :-\

Looks like "bwaller" is going to help me out.  A ray of sunshine to say the least. ;D ;) :D

Me and carbs mix like oil and water.  I've ALWAYS had a bear of a time with them....some things, you just have to farm out, I guess.

Well, bwaller cleaned up the carb, inspected it, and all is well.  I went ahead and ordered a new float needle and a new gasket set so HOPEFULLY a leaky #1 is a thing of the past.

Carb mails this week, parts mail tomorrow, 108 mains will be here any day.....time to do do some serious corner carving!

Thanks, Mick.  When will you start your build?  I know you have been gathering parts, but any idea when the INITIAL build up will begin?

Thing is gonna be a beast, I know. ;)

This 550 REALLY handles nice.....just need the motor pulling at 100%.

no...yours is fine.

Cycle X was having a "blue light special" on 550 drag pipes a day or so ago.......REALLY marked down, and these were PROFESSIONAL quality, not cheapo's....even had me thinking it over......but I want a Mac 4-1, black with a chrome tip!

Yes I was watching. Those were the ones I wanted. However I wanted them in black, and still working out details on money. I have another day 1/2 before I need to pull the trigger.. Yes, as I understand it the 4 - 1 exhaust is best for WOT and since I do mostly town hopping.. I don't mind 4 - 2 or drag pipes..

I may patch my pipes....but I'm not real happy with them.  I'd like to have a set of Benji's STAINLESS 4-2's with peashooter tips.  He even gives you a choice to baffling depending on the sound you wnat.  I think I would want the high pitch schreik over the loud rasp.  Problem is, Benji want's damn near a grand for them!!!! :o :o :o

Well i have most of the parts mate but i have limited room to actually start building. I still have a few parts to get yet and a couple of parts are still being developed {not allowed to give away any more info than that  ;D} So hopefully it won't take too long to get the rest of the bits and i can start soon. I was just going through what i already have and i really am having a hard time containing myself... ;D   Really would like it finished by Christmas, i will be doing a build thread and everyone is invited... ;)

I ordered a brand new MAC 4-1 exhaust tonight.  It is black with a chrome tip.

My 108 main jets arrived today, and Western Hills is sending me some O-Rings and a new float needle.

This...the good #1 carb coming in from BWaller, and HOPEFULLY she will run right. ;)

Awesome man! From what others have said, the 4 into 1 is going to work well for the type or riding you are going to be doing..

So....do we need to talk about a certain beat up 4-2 in need of a home, or are the drags coming?

With some WORK, these pipes would be really sweet......I jsut really wanted the 4-1 for my cafe, and stainless ones from RocCity were $1K, and flipprboi at BCR wanted 850...so I got what I wanted.

in short....want 'em?  I'll let you have them for the cost of shipping, Scott.
