Hum, that's a bit more then I expected; Is there a baffle in it?

okay, I had a loose wire for power to 1 & 4 coil.....plugged it in, and took bike for a ride......IMPRESSIONS:

Power and acceleration is INCREDIBLE!  Pulls like a sportbike, and will break the tire loose when cruising along at higher RPMS and hit the throttle. :o  you find yourself saying "is this really a 550?  The weight I chopped out of it sure made a difference." :-\

When adding throttle, you have to "roll" on the throttle....you can't just wack it back until the rev's are over 6,000 or so...as the carbs are just too much until the motor is spinning.  Even then, the acceleration is VERY strong, and with the open 4-1 it sounds like an old grand prix bike. ;D   Granted, the carbs could use a vac sync, and I still have some slack in the throttle I have to take out, but the bike flat SCREAMS.  (it should be reiterated that I have a 2 tooth smaller front sprocket on the front, which makes acceleration stronger).

Once the can gets in, I will take some pics, and beg a camcorder off of someone and try to figure out how to put it on YouTube. :-\

The bike has now gotten a stay of execution.....I will keep her! :)

No....I was getting pretty pissed off and depressed......can't do the stock carbs, man.

Well the only thing I was able to come up with is an old cell phone that does video.. Not great but so so.. If that would work I can send it to you, however I would have to have it sent back because it belongs to the company I work for and some day I have to return it. Sounds great, I knew good carbs would make all the difference!

Good to hear Joe, i would maybe go up a tooth on the front now so you can get good speed out of her, the chain and sprockets will last longer as well..

Now call Web Cam Inc. 951/369-5144 Phone or www.webcamshafts.com and tell them you want cam PN-65119. it's a drop in application, isn't too hot for every day street use and really wakes that sucker up!

I dug and dug....and found these....not the filters, but the "booties".

They are too big, as I have a 2 1/8 OD bell on the stacks, and they are for 3.5~4 inches....no prob.....jsut mod to fit, and have a seamstress sew in some elastic to make them work.....I am so stoked to have found these......why use the bulky K&N's when you can have these?  They are washable, and look the part of a racer.

These little guys are too cool not to pass on to you blokes! 8)

Point taken.  My chain is too short, and had to get inventive to get it to work...i.e. put it all together, then use a pry bar to push the wheel back and pull the adjusters up and back into place.  Terrible hell on the output tranny shaft I know....but I have monitored it, and the chain stretched QUICK.  I am now at the slack that is where it normally should be.  In short, if I change the front cog, I will either need a new nickel chain, or cob on a link from a regular chain. :-\ :-\

Did I mention this bike pulls like a freight train now?  ;D

7 months of building, Mick.....I'm FINALLY happy. ;D ;D ;D

Make sure you use something other than elastic Joe, fuel residue will make short work of the elastic quickly followed by your engine eating them as they loosen up and get sucked into it....

I doubt that would hold up to gas.

Also; keep in mind, no screen will come even close to what a filter like K&N dose for keeping out grit.  I've seen first hand what running stacks on the street will do to the inside of a motor; I had a customer that brought in a bike that had only been using them for a year and the thing was trashed, we ended up replacing the whole motor.  If you run them, I recommend you do it only on the cleanest of streets, especially if your running without a inner fender; the road crap will fling off the rear tire, right into the carbs.
