That Aircraft Remover is some serious stuff! I haven't found gloves yet that it won't eventually eat through. This time, I even tried the super-thick, elbow-long, heavy-duty latex gloves with the flocked (fluffy) interior. Yep, it ate through those. I guess the key is to avoid touching the stuff if at all possible. Regular latex and nitrile gloves don't stand a chance. Inevidibly, a speck of it gets on your skin and burns like mad, too. It smells pretty strong, too. You have to keep it in a metal or glass container, as it would simply eat through a plastic one.
Once it starts to break down the paint, it just becomes this goo. If you leave it sitting, say overnight, the solvent in it evaporates out and you end up with dry, broken-down paint. It did eat the polyurethane clear coat off my work bench after soaking through the cardboard I laid down. Crazy stuff, indeed, but it works like nothing else. And I highly recommend the liquid stuff in the can. I tried the spray-can version and it was too weak.
Wow Arch just looked through your flicker buildup I had forgot how much work went into this bike. Glad you and it are back with us. How nasty was the aircraft stripper and what did you use to catch the crap left over?
