I want to purchase new "short" fork tubes for my 500 so I dont have to cut the ones I have but the link I was given has short tubes for the 750. If they are the same as the 500 I will buy them otherwise I will have to cut the tubes I have. Thanks for the help.

The 500/550 has some different internal parts..

If the 500/550 tubes are 2" shorter but the same diameter, can you straight swap 500/550 tubes onto a 750 to lower the front end??

Yes if you shorten the springs

BryanJ - Any advantage to compressing the springs for a stiffer ride...as opposed to shortening them?

If you try to compress out 2 inches of preload, you'll have very stiff forks with little remaining travel before coil bind.

So I found these forks on Ebay and I am now wondering if my cb750 calipers will fit on these cb500T fork lowers.

Can I use these forks on my cb750 and will my cb750 calipers fit on these lowers?

They are both 35MM tubes and the fork lowers LOOK identical...but ARE THEY?

Anyone know?
