Static display at the local Air Zoo (museum).  'fraid I don't know the name of the plane or its designation.
Can I have a motorcycle when I get old enough?
If you take care of it.
What do you have to do?
Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. It’s having the right attitudes that’s hard.

How are they coming with that fire Frank ? That looks like when I was a kid and there was a summer that Hollyburn  in West Vancouver caught fire and you could walk out my front door and see the mountain glow at night.

No pic's yet, but I'm heading to Canberra and the National War Memorial to talk to one of their archivists about my Uncle's exhibits.
Apparently there is going to be some major renovations coming up and they may need to archive some of his stuff.
I will make sure I get some pics of their aircraft display while I'm there.

Cheers,
Brian

Ju-Air in switzerland were operating very succesfull flights in JU-52s, sadly they suffered a loss last week. None the less, kudos for keeping these old birds flying.

Every year the old warbirds come to Westchester County Airport in New York. You can get an hour ride in the B-17 for $600. The P-51 is a little steeper, $5000 for an hour (but you can do a half-hour hop for $2500). A little too rich for my blood.

OK guy's here's my favourite vintage A/C I apprenticed on them when I first joined my squadron
And I still have a soft spot for both those Lancs and my Squadron 407 Demon's anti shipping, anti submarine, maritime patrol, reconnaissance and long range patrol over land and sea. I know squadrons tasks don't sound that exciting until you're sitting in the nose bouncing along at 30-50 feet over choppy seas and the plexiglass gets spume on it, kind of like the "Charge of The Light Brigade" on water.

My vintage airplane ride and the last thing I flew for the USAF.  But it's going to become even more vintage.  Its getting re-engined, a new air to air and air to ground radar up front and a whole bunch of new radios, among many other things. It'll still be flying until at least 2050 when the B-1 and B-2 will long be dead in Davis-Monthan AFB Boneyard in the middle 2030's.

Bear when we received new A/C, our squadron senior officers decided that we were going to do it properly and had all of the Lanc's readied and even though we were short handed there were wartime types that threw on Mae Wests and guys that hadn't flown as crew since 6 group, Wag's etc so that they had enough crew and 407 got all 12 a/c up, formed up into Vic's and made a fly past at 500' now it was a cool misty day, Scotch Mist, I think the ceiling was 1000-1500' here comes 12 a/c 48 Merlins and if you shut your eyes for a moment you'd think you were on a Bomber Command station in England as they were launching an attack on the continent, it lifted the hair on the back of my neck and I suspect my eyes weren't the only ones leaking in our squadron or on RCAF st Comox.
