Topic: "ads by google" banner on right side ruining pictures!!

Please help!

This "ads by google" banner on the right side is keeping me from being able to see complete pics when I open a thread.  I've tried right clicking my mouse to find a way to change screen settings, but no luck.

Anyone know how to get rid of that annoyance?

Try another browser?  I have seen odd issues with Safari.

I use Safari, no issues. On sites displaying too large an image to display all at once, there are scroll bars with it to scroll around the image. What browser are you using?

You may need to change the screen resolution in your control panel settings.  Increase the resolution and more will fit on the screen at the same time.  


Edit:  Most pictures being posted on the forums are 800 x 600 pixels or smaller.  If these don't easily fit on your screen then the resolution setting is almost definitely the issue.

Hey Bob, not complaining about Safari, I use it as well.  I have just seen some odd things happen in it with placement of items on the page.  Not on this site, but others.

Basically recommending to try another browser as many of us should have at least two.  If not, time to get another one installed.

No problem, I'm not wedded to Safari. It just works better with regard to some security issues I had on the site with IE. Safari has some issues with locking up occasionally [for me] and I have to end the task and come back in. Might try another non-IE browser sometime, just too lazy at the moment.

I just tried a couple of different screen resolutions and it looks like you need to have it set to at least 1024 x 768 for the whole picture to show without having to scroll.

Try Firefox. You can adjust the page size by holding ctrl and scrolling in or out with the little scrolly thing on your mouse. Makes it real easy. But the screen resolution may also be the culprit. Get Firefox anyway, its pretty reliable...

Go into the Control Panel that's listed in your start menu, then click on "Appearance and Themes" or something like that, then click on "Change the screen resolution" or something along those lines, then change the resolution to 1024 x 768 or larger.  That should take care of it.

yep.  Print is definitely smaller, but I can now see stuff.

I run firefox + the adblocker plugin.  It takes away ads on a lot of website & gives me an overall better browsing experience.  Click on anything you don't want to see and add it to be blocked.
