Cb750 K2 clutch lifter bolt torque... anyone know?
« on: May 29, 2020, 04:36:26 PM »
It’s not in the shop manual. I have them just snug/bottomed out after getting all 4 tightened down equally without snapping the plate.  But I hesitate to put any additional torque to them beyond that.  If I snap another plate I’m likely to throw a tool through the wall.

Snug is fine; they are only 6mm bolts. ;)

If you can't find the correct figure I say use the standard torque for a 6mm bolt. ~ 7lb or as Scottly says, snug
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

There is a general torque guideline in CB750 shop manual for different type of bolts, head type and dimension.
I also tighten these M6 7ft lbs.

Side covers less, around 6 ft lbs. Tighten again after a day when gasket has compressed.

Important to have a good tool for these small dimensions. 1/4" socket torque wrench.
