Plasma Cutter's how nice they are
« on: December 28, 2009, 08:52:46 PM »
Hey All,
I swapped in a 8.8 from an explorer into the  Jeep XJ. I got to use my friends miller 375 plasma cutter to cut the shock towers off to reinstall on the 8.8. He just got it and wasn't to familiar with fine tunning it but for how it was set it worked great. Whooyoo not so bouncy now.

I got to use one in my Metal Sculpting class, and I really want one! However it's not a clean cut like a laser would do, but still beats all the other methods I have available to me.

Sure it's for sale! How much you ask?? Well, how much are you willing to pay??? Now triple it, that's the price!

I have been thinking about getting one for the shop, but the more I look into them, the less I want one. Now if I could just afford a waterjet, I would be in seventh heaven. They just take up tooooooo much room and today that is at a premium and their cost is way up there too.

I dunno, plasma is pretty gooey and sticky.  Not sure you really need a cutter, maybe just a good anticoagulant.   ;D
