A question about cable grommets
« on: December 28, 2009, 12:14:49 PM »
My 1974 350 F-1 has a a Cable Grommet in the front fender. It is rubbery, but its O-L-D, not cracked up, still flexible. Since I figure that that part is impossible to get I'd like suggestions on how to remove it without ruining it or the fender. Any advice other than "Carefully" ;D will be appreciated. Or does anyone have a suitable replacement idea, or better an actual replacement which I would be glad to purchase if I'm unsuccessful.

TIA

The cable grommet on the rear fender of my 1970 CB750 is still available.  I'd check if I were you, yours probably is too.  But if you want to try to remove and replace it, warm it with a hair dryer.
