Swap a 76 GL1000 tachometer onto a 75 750K?

Just wondering if anyone knows off hand if a 76 GL1000 tachometer can be driven with a stock 750K cable and if it's calibrated the same?
Just wondering as I'm planning on swapping out my front-end and can get one in the deal if it makes sense.
Thanks!

From what I've read about the swap the speedo drive gear is the same internally, it just has the output angled out some to clear the disc. You could run the GL gauges, or do like I did and mount the 750 stuff on the GL gauge bracket.

But... can you drive a GL tach with a 750 tach cable?
I'm going to keep it GL from the gauges down to the rim if I can but I suspect the GL tach is either not workable with the stock cable or not calibrated to output the correct RPM of the 750 motor.
Might as well pick it up and find out I suppose

Yes you can run both. I swapped GL speedo/tach onto my 76 750 and used the 750 cables. The GL gauges mounted a little different though, GL was on the triangle shaped dash in the middle and my 750 k ones didnt have that. Im not sure about the ratios being right? The GLs looked really good & the price was right. The mount bracket is different also from 750 to GL triple clamp.
