I was wondering what other hobbies we SOHC/4 enthusiats participate in. Or, do we all eat, sleep and breathe these bike that we have time for little else?

When I'm not riding the bike, my other "garage hobby" is antique outboard motors. I have a few, to say the least.....

Any other group topics I should list?

While I still collect and build scale models, I haven't in the last 15 years as I have been building 1:1 scale cars. However with 3 out of 4 kids in university and the prices of cars and parts going insane, and the bike bug has bit hard last year, its mainly the bikes now. I had hoped to restore some bikes to sell to supply money for the cars, but I cannot bear to part with any of them now. So just another addiction to the others.
When I surveyed on ships for months at a time, then I built the scale models. Haven't gone away since 1996 - and don't really miss it.

Dabbled in photography for many years, still, B/W mostly. Recently began fiddling with digital video. One of my Xmas gifts from my daughter was a book on the subject. I think it might have been a suggestion it needs improvement.  ;D

I work on my perpetual house remodel.  This pic is from last fall--I got the porch pretty much finished befor winter set in.  The entire second floor on the left side is new--it started as a single storey house.

I've done all of the work--framing, roofing, electrical, plumbing, etc., etc., etc.

Trying to get the new kitchen finished now--18'- X 22'- takes a lot of finishing.

I'd rather ride a Yamaha than eat worms.

Primary non-motorcycle interests are bicycling, kayaking, hiking, camping.  I also have a keen interest in photography and an addiction to travel and combine my addictions and my interests as often as possible.

Hey Jonesy,  I've got a Wizard 5hp 2cyl. outboard motor that I think is a 40's model but, I don't know exactly. It's in fair shape except, I need a piston and possibly a cylinder (I don't know if these can be bored or not)  And let's see, what is there besides motorcycles? No really, I'm into Muscle Cars, Antique Cars (& Trucks), Custom Cars and Antique motorcycles of most kinds. I just can't afford to do anything but look at most all of these things that I'm interested in. But, what I do with alot of my time is work with a young man who is physically and somewhat mentally challenged. When ever Ihave the time and money, I have some "Project Bikes" that I'm slowly trying to work on. My thought is to try to fix some of them up and sell them to finance the ones I care about the most. Well, enough about me, I'm gone again.  Bill

Ok dam it! I need a life.  :-\ Bikes just about consume all of my waking time. Pulling parts, posting parts on eBay, selling parts here, selling parts on postaroo, packing parts, picking up bikes and then start over.  ??? Vicious cycle, no pun intended.

No matter what I may be distracted with  ::), immeadiately I am thinking to what has to be shipped, what parts to pull next, can I pick up that new score?, and the list goes on.  ::)

Evryone is problably doing something New Years related, I am listening to music on rock.com and posting parts on eBay.

On the rare occasion that I actually have to do something else I build websites and design logos. My cameras spend alot of time at rest because my mind wanders to what still has to be done.

Ok.... So , I work all the time....

However when the weather improves I am an avid paintballer. I have about 6 different guns for different events. Some for scenario, some for competition. My Kingman Spyder has been modified (obsessively by me) to shoot about 32 BPS (balls per second). This is an incredible "race gun" for tourney's. Funny when I stop shooting and the guy thinks I have ducked for cover and he stands up in a whole stream of paintballs   :D ;D.

Toycollector buys stuff at local auction rooms, internet sites etc and eBay, then lists up on eBay again to finance his bike hobby. Mostly bakelite radios, toys, collectables, antiques and the like..good fun, good money. Been buying and selling for years. P.S. I keep the good stuff.

Jonesy, Love your outboards, do you collect old clinker built boats to go with your hobby?, vintage boats are very big down here..

I Coach Fencing (all three weapons - Foil, Epee, Sabre) at a local Fencing Club.  Took my Beginners to the top of their League this/last year (2005).

Otherwise I spend a fair amount of time either in front of the PC, or working on the house - (just finished hanging 8 new doors - never again)!

I race cars, unfortunately this is only a summer activity. During the winter we spend time testing and getting engines rebuilt etc, and trying to get money from our sponsors!!

I have so many hobbies, or should I say interests, that I can't possibly do them all.  But it's not overwelming, it's rewarding.  Depending on the mood, I might design a part and turn it on the lathe, or go for a boat ride, shoot something, play with the gravely... I like to do things that others write books about.  Oh yeah, I fish too; I fish for beer in the cooler!
My dog loves me for the person I try to be.  Either that or he's hungry.

My two bikes are definitely my main hobby, but my second love is homebrewing (and consuming the end results).  I usually do all-grain brewing, no extracts or other shortcuts, which allows more control and requires more time but best of all, more equipment!  And isn't more stuff what a good hobby is all about? ;D

I also have a habit of buying cheap, beater cars that need constant attention to keep running.  After my '84 Accord died last Summer I swore to myself the next car I bought would be less than ten years old, but then a couple of weeks ago I saw this car that needed a good home.  I couldn't resist!  I guess I'm just a glutton for punishment.  At least it's a 4WD, which is nice since I pretty much only need a car for when it snows.
