Has anyone replaced K0-K6 Triple Trees with a K7-K8 set?

I'm in a bind here. Cracked my top bridge a while back and I'm having a hard time sourcing a bridge which is the same as mine. Will the trees for a K7-K8 fit my K2?

Yes, but they will kiss the tank.  look for a 77, if you want your brake junction to fit. You could build up your stops on the tree.

If you want to slam, the tubes will slide up to the moon.. ;D

You may have already found this, but if you use the '77 tree, be sure to use both the top and bottom sections.  Because of the change in offset in the '77 and '78 models from earlier models, you cannot use the K7 top with your K2 bottom.

Ya, I found this out the hard way. You can't mix and match.

I cracked - in fact broke off the corner of my top tree 3 months ago (K2). I couldn't source a replacement fast enough - so took it into a local auto machinist who had it welded - cost me about 50 of your dollars. Looks perfect.
