Hi,
I figured out the male side, but cannot remove the female pins from the other side. How is this done?

There is a little "tang" sticking out from the female connector inside the connector housing that you must force inward. It catches on the connector housing keeping the connector in. It is inside the small indent at each connector on the connector housing. I take a large paper clip and flatten the end by hammering it on smooth concrete or the anvil portion of my workbench vise until it will fit in. I insert this into that small indent which forces the tang back up to the female connector then wiggle the female connector out.

Thanks Jerry!
From my pic provided, is the tang located at the bottom of each female connector??

Yes, inside the little indent pictured in the connector housing for each connector.
